Big Ten Title?

I think it's out of the question personally. Plausible? Yes. But to do it we need to win out and I do not see that happening at all with the product that was on the field today.

I believe MSU would go. Here's the Break down Wisconsin and MSU would be 11-1 and Iowa would be 10-2 all three would be 7-1 in conference. the 1st tie breaker would be head to head and since Iowa would have beat MSU....MSU beat Wisconsin.... Wisconsin beat Iowa, It would be a push. The next tie breaker I believe is over all record so that would eliminate Iowa and it would go back to the 2 way tie system and the head to head would give it to MSU

Iowa has to beat Michigan State and Ohio State for a three way Big Ten tie. For Michigan State and Ohio State, Iowa is the toughest game on both of their schedules.

So to look at the situation from Michigan State's standpoint, next week is the conference championship. If Michigan State gets past Iowa they have a walk through the rest of the season. Minnesota, Purdue at home, Penn State on the road.

Wisconsin has Indiana, Michigan and Northwestern. Ohio State has Minnesota, Penn State, Iowa and Michigan. Expecting Ohio State, Michigan State to lose to any of those teams except Iowa is wishful thinking. Wisconsin has a small chance of losing at Michigan. Northwestern and Indiana are in Madison and they won't lose either of those games.

The way i see it, Michigan state did not not look real impressive yesterday and we see ohio state can be vulnerable. As with any KF team we have a shot at any game we play!!

In the event of a 3 way tie, they go to head to head matchups.. in this scenario it would be a triangle one (MSU beating Wisky, Wisky beating Iowa, Iowa beating MSU)..

It then goes to OVERALL WIN PERCENTAGE.. Iowa would be eliminated, and then it would revert back to head to head option for the 2 remaining teams (This means that MSU would go to the Rose Bowl).

BCS position doesn't come into play until all teams have same OVERALL WIN percentage... with our OOC loss, we'd drop out of the tie break scenario, and then MSU would win by H-2-H against Wisky.

I guess this exact scenerio and putting a big ten title game in play is the answer the tie. I think the same would happen, we would be out to the big ten title game and wisky and mich st would play for the title. Winner would go to rose bowl if not to nt game.

Big Ten in Football

If there's a tie in the big ten the first tiebreaker is Head-To-Head matchup

After that it goes by BCS Ranking(highest BCS ranked team goes)

Big Ten Title works team with the best record in the Big Ten(not overall games) wins the title
-If two teams are tied goes by head-to-head matchup, if teams do not play each other they are both Co-Big Ten Champions
-If three teams are tied they are all Big-Ten co-champions, unless one team beat the other 2 teams or 2 teams beat the third, etc
example iowa 9-2(lost to minn, lost to indiana)
wisc 9-2(lost to iowa, lost osu)
osu 9-2(lost to penn st, lost to northwestern)
Iowa and osu would be co-big ten champions as they would both have the head-to-head over wisc even though they all 3 have the same record(this is taking in the event when iowa and osu wouldnt have played each other)

example 2
wisc 9-1(lost to minn)
iowa 9-1(lost to wisc)
mich 9-1 (lost to wisc)
wisconsin would be solo big ten champ having beaten the other 2 teams(once again taking in the event mich and iowa did not play each other

BCS factoring
Big ten champion goes to Rose Bowl/BCS bowl if they are solo big ten champion regaurdless of ranking, common example is in the Big East when Pitt was unranked champion of Big Eat and played Utah in a BCS bowl even though west virginia was ranked higher.

if multiple co-big ten champions tie breaker is highest ranked BCS team, there can only be 2 teams playing in a bcs bowl game from each bcs conference(bcs conf = big ten, sec, acc, etc)

Example today
If Iowa beat MSU(even though Iowa has a non-conference lose because they suck)
MSU 1 lose big ten
Iowa 1 lose big
Wisc 1 lose big
if all three teams win out, there will be a 3 way tie Big-Ten Co-Champions and the highest Ranked BCS team will go to the Rose Bowl or Natl Champ if one of them is ranked #1 or #2...lets say MSU for some crazy reason goes to Natl Champ with 1 lose, then the rose bowl will be open and the next highest BCS ranked team will go to the Rose Bowl.

I believe MSU would go. This is exactly how I see it. the only way it goes to the BCS ranking is if all teams would have same overall and Big Ten record. Since Iowa lost an OOC game and Wisky and MSU did not, Iowa is eliminated, and then it reverts to the two game tiebreaker, and MSU goes. ...in this hypothetical at least.

Iowa needs help to get to the Rose, but I do believe that if they win out, they will jump MSU to get into the BCS as the Big 10's second team.

MSU will be heavily favored the rest of their games against soft SOS. There won't be a lot of movement for them upwards after this game.

Iowa on the other hand will have to beat another BCS top 10 to win out, and will be I believe ranked higher than Michigan State as a result.

Either way, if you're not in the top 6, you only have to be in the top 14 and then it is up to the bowls.

Which by the way is totally ridiculous. it should be the top 10 BCS teams end of question, but it's just another item that CFB has totally f*cked up.
