Big 10 Next Year...Personnel Losses

Ohio State added Temple transfer Anthony Lee and down to OSU, Purdue, Indiana for 7-footer VT transfer Trevor Thompson.

Just another year of not embracing transfer culture here at Iowa though. Man, we are going to get destroyed inside next season by a lot of teams.

I agree and Michigan should be Top 10...even if both Stauskas and Robinson leave.
Not a chance if those 2 guys leave. Who knows what McGary does but UM also loses Jordan Morgan. If they lose Stauskus and GR III also they are going to take a step back next year. Walton, Irvin and Lavert is a good nucleus but not a Top 10 team.

*Players with eligibility but may opt for the NBA.

Michigan - Morgan, *Robinson and *Stauskas
MSU - Payne, Appling and *Harris
Wisconsin - Brust, *Kaminsky
Iowa - Basabe, Marble and McCabe
Ohio State - Craft, Ross, Della Valle and Smith
Nebraska - Gallegos
Minnesota - Hollins and Smith
Purdue - Johnson, Johnson and *Hammons
Illinois - Bertrand and Ekey
NW - Crawford and Sobolewski
PSU - Frazier and Roberts
Indiana - Sheehey, Gordon, Vonleh and Hollowell

Maryland - No one
Rutgers - Moore and Judge

LOL - Woodbury, Olaseni, Uthoff, White, Meyer and Uhl disagree. Which B1G teams are better at the 5 than Woodbury/Olaseni...12.2 ppg and 8.8 rpg and 10 fouls? Which are better at the 4 than Uthoff/White...20.4 and 11.3 and 10 fouls?

I'm well aware of which players they lose. I'm also well aware of which players return and I highly doubt their coach is going anywhere. Much like Bo Ryan he just plugs in new pieces. To say "Not a chance" is not well thought out on your part.

Levert
McGary
Walton
Irvin
Horford
Albrecht
4 Incoming recruits (only needs 2 to contribute)

Seriously? You don't have to follow recruiting that closely to know Iowa is bringing in a JUCO guard and is in play for a JUCO forward..... Ah never mind just a troll.

Like I said, a good team. Definitely not a Top 10 team in the nation though. They are bringing in a 4 star and three 3 stars. And do you have knowledge that McGary is coming back?

And I dont think a person that had the sig proclaiming Iowa would finish 14-4 and in 2nd place in the B1G this year for a good chunk of the basketball season should be saying any statement by another poster is not well thought out.

Have they landed Atwood yet? No. So until that position is addressed it will be a problem. If we don't land him, the fall back is high school recruit Mike Nzei - a project. Coaching staff has been in contact with him again. Would rather the staff go after a transfer who is seasoned or more talented than a lanky freshman. Maybe transfers are just not interested in Iowa for some reason.

And how did Iowa do against teams with more physicality than them? White practically disappeared and our offense doesn't go through Woody/Olaseni when it should at times. Uhl and Meyer? Come on. Uhl is athletic but kid is a string bean and has a couple years with the staff before he becomes a factor. That POWER forward position needs addressed this off-season.

Play Olesani at the power forward if we can't land atwood.

*Players with eligibility but may opt for the NBA. I left the * next to Stauskas for now...but believe the rumors he's going. Added Horford...averaged less than 5 ppg but his loss will be felt IMO.

Edit - Forgot to add Faust...leaving Maryland and averaged 9.4 ppg

FWIW, Stauskas is saying this morning that he hasn't made up him mind yet. And Horford says he is transferring. Most read that as meaning that McGary is coming back.

That's not relevant to the argument you made. It's like saying that a coach hasn't embraced the idea of recruiting elite prospects, even though he offers them and puts a lot of effort into them every year, only to fail in sealing the deal.

If Hoiberg never actually landed any transfers, but was pushing hard after them all, would you say that he's not "embraced the transfer culture"? Of course not. Would you say he's a bad recruiter in that instance? Perhaps, but it wouldn't be because he sees no value in landing transfers.

Nothing to do with what position it is. It's about going after transfers. Just because they don't land Atwood doesn't mean they aren't embracing transfers. They got one already in Jared. Now Dickerson is committed and Atwood might be in as well. They've gone after other transfers but didn't get them. So what exactly is your point? The whole team needs to be transfers? Not realistic nor should it be.
