Big 10 = 5-3. Big 12 = 3-4. Pac 12 = 2-5.

How would you guys suggest teams be seeded? Fact is big 12 had best non-conference record against the power 5. Iowa didn't help losing to ND and ISU. Sounds like people here want to base seeding on last years tournament. Which is just stupid. Sick of this same old argument year after year. Fact is, Bowl games and one-and-done tournaments aren't a good reflection of an entire season.

We we hear the flip side in Football about the Big Ten every year.

A team in a power 5 conference that wins their regular season title by 2 games gets a 5 seed.....does that make sense to you? I am sure MSU would rather worked out their issues as 1 seed against Hampton than getting beat by formidable 15 seed in Middle Tennessee St. The logic behind getting a 1 seed without winning your conference regular season or tourney title is exactly what?

What are you talking about the Big 12 had a great non conference season that's why we've had to hear this crap about how good they are all season long. Their conference RPI and KenPom are off the charts

By "Great" you means for Kansas and OU. Outside of those two schools, the rest that made the NCAA field were pretty terrible.

As I listed, outside of those two, there were 5 wins over NCAA qualifying teams (two over a play in team in Vanderbilt) a win over Colorado, Iowa and UNC. They had losses to 10 P6 schools: Virginia, Florida, Washington, Michigan, UCONN, Oregon, Texas A&M (Baylor), Texas A&M (Texas), Utah, Arkansas, . going 5-10 is NOT inpressive in non con games.

Kansas and OU carried this conference. They had wins over Vanderbilt (what it the deal with the Big12 beating up on Vandy?), Oregon St., Kentucky, Wisconsin, Villanova. Those two teams had as many quality non con wins as the rest of the Little 8 combined.

Like I said KU and OU carried that conference, the rest of the teams were putrid in the non con.

You're not very bright

You are also comparing 10 teams to 14 teams. Both are pretty good, but based on the body of work I don't see why you would dwell on which is better than the other based on a couple of last second shots. Head to head it wasn't much of a contest. That is why the B1G has tougher draws in the dance. You could argue that it was earlier in the season but what else are you going to use? I would much prefer to see a B1G or Big 12 team advance over an SEC team...

How did they have the best non conference of all the leagues then?

I don't know. The same way MidMajors get high RPI? Beat a bunch of teams just outside of the NCAA field. The #70-130 RPI types.

Nobody plays that that many good teams in the non con. Yet having 5 teams go 5-10 Vs them isn't terribly impressive. Those are the teams that the NCAA tells us are #4,5,6&8 seeds.

I thought the Pac 12 seeds and number of teams was ridiculous...and it was. I thought the same about the Big 12...other than KS and OK. And it was. The jury is still out on the Big 10 with 2 upset losses...but other teams with the opportunity for upset wins.

It's now been proven on the court. We got hosed on seeds. But IN, MD and WI all made the Sweet 16 anyway. The Big 10 is alive and well.

Has the Big 12 beaten a team seeded 1-8 yet? To my knowledge they haven't, but I may have forgotten someone. Have proven nothing yet. Still have a chance to, though.

Nope. KU over #9 UCONN is the best win

B1G wins over #12, #12, #11, #10, #10, #4, #2

Big12 wins over #16, #15, #13, #12, #10, #9

B1G losses to #2, #6, #12, #15

Big12 losses to #14, #12, #11, #9

As with every single year, the Big12 loses to more inferior teams, and has less good wins in the NCAA tournament. The Big12 does less with more (good seeding) than any other conference year over year.

But think how excited the mid majors get when they see they are playing a Big 12 team...

I don't know how many times this needs to be said but conference finish doesn't matter, and hasn't for a long time.

And you just say that bcuz the truth hurts. The big 10 was down a bit this year mainly for a lack of stellar pt guard play. But big 12 is overrated

Well, if the B1G would win more games head to head against the Big 12 the argument would be stronger...

No, I got it....This year it was how did you do against the rpi top 50, next year it could be the # of road wins, 2 years from now it could be SOS, 3years from now it could be the number of bowel movements your team has.

Head to head how did it go Big 12 vs. B1G? Both have three teams in the Sweet 16 but the Big 12 has four fewer teams to begin with and 7 out of 10 went dancing. They have played terribly in the dance for the past two seasons so it is hard to tell what the truth is... As an Iowa fan I would be careful trying to make an argument that you are better than a team that has beaten you two years in a row...

It is the same old same old every year, it isn't just a 2 year thing. This is a 5+ year trend, it isn't something you can just wipe away and try to pretend it is only a 1 or 2 year thing.

2 Big 12 teams in Elite 8, down to Big 10 champ Indiana to represent.
