Here would be my list, having watched Iowa hoops since 1980:

Gerry Wright
Roy Marble
Ricky Davis
Doug Thomas
 
Without a doubt the best dunker in Iowa history was Sir Jamalot Gerry Wright. Those who don't know this are just under the age of 30.
 
I'm not near old enough to have witnessed and remembered much of the short shorts era so I will have to take your guys' word for it. In my era, though not many to choose from, it is Doug Thomas or Ricky Davis.

I know he isn't #1 but can we get some Basabe love in here? I love when he pulls out that one handed reverse dunk.

At least the first one of those seemed to be shock. He got the ball and quickly made a move to score, apparently expecting there to be a defender to contest the shot. Only when he turned around, there wasn't anybody there, and he threw up an awkward shot.

Kind of like drinking milk when you're expecting water.
 
Doug Thomas was terrific.

Trust us on this one kiddies, when we say Gerry Wright was #1 it doesn't diminish DT, Ricky or anyone else.

I also appreciated *how* Ricky got a lot of his dunks, on drives and other cleverness, he'd sometimes come out of nowhere and just exPLODE.

Sir Jamalot was incredible. I do like the fact that Doug used 2 hands on most of the dunks shown.....that is real power.
 
I don't think may is the best but he should be up there. The alley oop the other night was amazing. Most players don't even get a hand on that because of player angle and everything. He put it down and it was amazing.
