Did you see that Bama-Georgia game? That '94 Browns squad had Belichick, Saban and Kirk Ferentz. The rest of the guys on the staff seemed fairly mediocre, but holy shit, you have arguably the best college and pro coach of all time and Nick Saban all on one staff. That's insane.

I was watching the LSU - Iowa Capital One bowl game and they were talking about the fact that KF and Saban were on the same Brown's staff. It also compared their records at the time...two conference titles each...although Nick had the NC.

When Don Coryell was at San Diego State in the mid 1960's, his staff included John Madden as DC, Joe Gibbs as OC, Joe Bugel and Rod Downhower as position coaches.

All five became NFL head coaches. Three are in the NFL Hall of Fame, the other two weren't chopped liver.

Not a bad college staff.

I've always wondered what Ferentz would have done at a school that recruited itself, where all he had to worry about was instructing the players.

His record as NFL head coach wa 5-24 in 1985-86 with the Indianapolis Colts. Sorry about that. I didnt remember it being that bad.
