Beat the goofers today!

Meyer with a 3 and a layup off a great assist from Doyle and a Davis layup w/ a foul she'll shoot 1 and Iowa leads 72-59 with 4:25 to go.

The Lady Hawks got off to a slow start due to the goofers zone. This game was a very ruff played game. Ally, Megan, Tania and Kristina all were about beat to a pulp! At the end of the game Kristina got smacked in the face so hard I wanted to go down there and smack the crap out of that goofer! The Hawks really needed to win this game and they came through and beat those stinking goofers! Way to go ladies on to terpville.

That was definitely a well played second half!

Yes I did brave the mob of girl scouts and the giant line to get the autographs. Not only to I have program signed by the entire team now, but it was a great chance to say hello to everyone. I was not in a hurry so it was great. I got say hi to Lacey Goldwire before the game, and the entire team after. It is so much better to do that after a win they were all smiling and in a good mood.

You are to be commended on braving the mob of Girl Scouts! Hope they have at least one more signing day. If you hear of one coming up I'd like to know in advance if possible. :)

Was a great win today. Moved us up the ladder closer to that no. 5 position in the BTT.

This game was a joy to watch. The Gophers came out hot and Iowa responded like a good team does . They maintained their poise and got better shots. They ran the break smartly and worked it patiently inside to Megan. They simply got better shots than Minnesota even though Minnesota was shooting so well. Iowa played steady defense and didn't give much away. When Iowa started to close the gap you could see Tania and Kathleen talking and directing the defense. That's a change that's been needed. Minnesota is a physical team and Iowa didn't get rattled by that. Now they need to bring that with them on the road. They've got 5 tough road games left and need to win 3 or 4 (preferably 4). Great game today.

The Hawks held the goofers Carli Wagner to 6-20 shooting. 0-5 three pointers. The Hawks defense kept her off balance pretty much the whole game. The Hawks out rebounded them 40- 34. That's a big step forward and has to be the first time in awhile that the Hawks has out rebounded someone. Hawks only had 11 TO's and that also is very encouraging. Very tough road game coming up and I hope the Hawks bring an attitude and have the mind set they are just as good as the terps.

Your comment reminded me, I forgot to mention Tania Davis' defense today. You are right about Wagner, but she's a volume scorer who has never shot a good %. Kenisha Bell is I think their best player averaging about 17 ppg, but shoots a better % and has more assists. Davis defended her all game and really shut her down, probably the best defense from Tania all year (she's usually good, but with too many gambles and lapses-today she was great). Plus she was more of a vocal leader today. Hope she and Kathleen keep that up. I made some comments about the block/charge calls while watching on TV, did they look as bad in person?

2:00 on btn plus. A win today will be critical for the tournament resume. What's her face his finally gone, now beat them!

Could you please respond to me as to why you won't put WBB or something in front of your subjects on womens basketball? I've asked in several threads and I haven't been a jerk about it.

Maybe if this site used both mbb and wbb designations it would make some sense. For example one day last year Iowa played the same team on the sane day. Adding a mbb to each men's thread could have helped a little as the game thread ended up having posts from both games because no one mentioned what team they were talking about. On most days the teams are not playing the same school so it should not be a problem to real Hawkeye fans who should know both schedules well. Both teams are Hawkeye teams and neither team should be forced to have prefixes if the other team does not. They are both of equal value. So start adding mbb, then we can talk further.

95% of the comments here are about MBB, most people come here to discuss MBB so it makes perfect sense to add WBB to the subject to avoid any confusion. This never used to be a problem, people that posted about WBB used to add it to the subject line. WBB is not discussed equally on here.

Tania was very good on dee! They kept takin Tania out for like 30 second intervals the whole game. I kept saying there she goes.....ahhhh she's back. Lol Whatever it worked! The block/charge calls were awful! Something happened to Ally once where they went to the monitors to look but I don't know if the cameras caught it. Did you get to see anything on TV about it? One time I actually saw Megan kind of shove a goofer after the play was over and that's not like her. One very good thing is the Lady Hawks should some fight and I've been waiting for that to show up.

The TV announcers knew something had happened to Ally, but they didn't see it. They tried to find it on replay, but she was in the corner and whatever it was happened off screen, so we did not see it. Just from looking at her in the post game conference, I'd say she got an elbow to her face somewhere near her right eye, but that's purely a guess. I'll try and see if the newspaper reporters know anything.

Ally was trying to keep her composure and be tuff but she was in some pain. It definitely happened away from the ball and I missed it myself. Those goof-offs were a hard hitting team. Hope you can find something out hagarwood.

I think ClintonIAfan explained it pretty well. I honestly never have a problem figuring it out. I'm not sure how anyone is hurt by clicking on a thread they don't want to read - just close it and move on. This just seems to me to be a way to try and push people around. If it is that important to you, the site has a monitor who can easily make new rules - that shouldn't be your choice to make a new rule or reinstitute an old rule whose time has passed. In a new age where we try to treat everyone equally your bringing this up over and over again seems kind of like bullying to me.

My seat was in the first row but that corner where Ally was opposite me across the court so I missed it too. She got over it quickly though, and was in great spirits after the game.
