Baylor fires Art Briles

Stanzi, your point about my being a Hawk Fan is ridiculous. Being a Hawk Fan doesn't mean one has to salute everything and criticize nothing. You went off on Baylor fans without really much thought of victims and the whole situation. I called you out and you don't like it. I can make the same point about your comments.

Paraphrasing, but you basically said...look how stupid their fans are. Baylor is a trash hole. Not in those exact words, but the intent was there. I have no issue on pointing out stupid fans like some were. You basically trashed the whole place. That is easy to surmise from your posts.

Using your words.... I would just let it go. As far as being a Hawk fan, you'd find no one more supportive over a long period of time. As far as suspicion goes, I really don't care.

I did not "go off" on Baylor fans. You may be confusing me with some other poster in this thread. In no way did I say their fans are stupid and Baylor is a trash hole or even imply that. I actually chuckled when I read that. My thoughts are entirely with the victims. They were letdown by the people in power, and apparently in some cases were threatened with repercussions. Fortunately Briles and the AD are gone, and Starr is no longer chancellor. That is a good start to help the victims heal. It's actually offensive to me for you to claim I feel otherwise. I will not support fans who support Briles or the administration though. That doesn't mean I think all of their fans are stupid or Baylor is a trash hole.
 
They really kicked this guy to the curb and made it clear that they will not tolerate any disciplinary issues at a school as proud and religiously oriented as Baylor University. Their dedication to the ideals of student athletes and education and the student experience is unimpeachable.
 
Rumors out now that people want Briles to serve a one year suspension and return to coach in 2017. This can't possibly happen, can it?
 
This was the discussion on the Doug Gottlieb show yesterday. He stated that it was the regents who had planned to vote on a suspension rather then termination.

"Over the course of Sunday night and Monday morning, multiple outlets reported Baylor's brass was considering a one-year suspension for Briles, who was suspended with "intent to terminate" in wake of the Pepper Hamilton report. Officially, Briles has not been fired. However, Dan Wolken of USA Today added that the voices in favor of reinstating Briles were "few in number at this point and considered to be on the margins.""
