Why is their no Baseball Forum? This is the only men's sports team we have that can win a Big Ten title and a post season game against top flight competition. These guys deserve their own forum. What Rick Heller has done is amazing. The funny thing is that very few people even know that Iowa has the NCAA homerun leader. Adams crushes the ball guys...he's got a real shot at the next level.
 
It was great to see them pull off the upset last night. Hopefully they can win tonight and advance.
 
We have posted a couple threads as offtopic in Football and one in Big Ten Sports because there is no baseball forum. Hawks play Texas A&M tonight at 7:04. On ESPN3 per Hawkeyesports.com

I asked for a baseball forum on Site Feedback - we'll see what happens
 
Been following them on TV since the BIG tourney. Don't let it be said that there isn't something to follow as a Hawk fan this summer. They've been hitting the ball well but I've been more impressed with their defense as of late.........gritty is the word for this team.

Probably as hostile of an environment last night as they've seen this year. Sure got tired of the 3 obnoxious UH fans sitting behind home plate. The announcers were a bit bias as well. Talked about all the breaks they thought went Iowa's way ........not mentioning that Iowa's 13 hits might have had something to do with the outcome.
 
If our Hawks make it to Omaha, I am confident that there will be a Baseball specific forum. Might have to be a baseball/softball forum, however. HN doesn't need any discrimination lawsuits... :eek:

Absolutely correct on the defense. I watched most of the B10 tourney...they made every play and were great up the middle. They turned a few double plays that were spectacular. They didn't hit that great, until the championship in the tournament, but they played great, great defense. You can tell Heller drills these guys relentlessly on fundamentals...they are a really solid defensive team. Fun to watch good baseball.

Adams has the type of power you don't teach. He's so fluid and generates so much power from his legs and hips...he crushes the ball and it looks like he barely swung.
 
We win the Big 10 Tournament, and then beat a #1 seed on their turf. Baseball truly is a sport of the hottest teams are the hardest to beat come post season.
 
So you guys want a baseball forum for a sport that, currently, only has any interest for about 3 weeks out of the year? If they make it past the regional, then there might actually be some hype/interest for more than the post season.

Any update on game time? I see Houston and Baylor are in a delay. Rain moving out. Houston up in 9th 17-3.
