Basabe A/T ratio

Let me preface this by saying I think Basabe has the most potential of any player on the team and I like watching him play. However yahoo sports has his A/T ratio at 3:35? Can this really be correct? I realize big men often have A/T ratios well under 1 but don't think I've ever seen anything like that.

I think Basabe should be like a black hole. When the ball gets passed into him, it should only go to the hoop. I don't care if he never has another assist.

There was an NBA player from the 70's when told of his lack of assists- "I knew I had teammates, I just didn't know where they were."

As for Melsahn, a .3 to .5 A/T would be nice, but so would more consistency. However, the kid's a FR playing a bigger role and more minutes than he should be. The last thing I would pick nits about in terms of player performance is MB's A/T ratio.

Dallas Lauderdale used to have some bad A:TO ratios.

That's a bad example, Basabe will be twice the player Dallas is.

It doesnt suprise me that it's bad, although to be fair it is REALLY REALLY bad. He's obviously got some work to do on his passing game he doens't have much help.

Lauderdale is starting for the #1 team in the nation. He's pretty good.

Lauderdale should have played football. He has no chance of playing at the next level in basketball but would have and still may be able to play in the NFL (if he is able to get a tryout). The man is a physical beast with good/strong/large hands and good speed. I definitely would give him a chance to play tight end, if I were an NFL coach. He should have gone out for fb at OSU, imo.

No, I don't think Lauderdale goes to the next level either. I'm just pointing out that he's a pretty decent ball player starting on the best team in the nation.

Fixed. Ranked #1 doesn't necessarily mean "best". And I am not sold on OSU being the best team in the country yet. Could they be? Sure. But I haven't seen it just yet.

OK, would you say they are one of the Top 10 teams in the nation? Top 25? If that's the case, starting on a Top 10 or 25 team means you are pretty good too.

Basabe is the best player on our team already and he's only half way through his freshman season.. Unfortunately we need about 2 more Basabe type players before NCAA tourney's even become a possibility.
