Baker Mayfield

He was having fun and caught up in the moment. I don't think that makes him or any of his teammates look like "dickheads". If he'd of done it at our place I think 90% of the posters would have been more pissed about our performance during the game than after it.

What's the difference between that as opposed to rushing another teams sidelines to recapture a rivalry trophy?
Sorry. I thought he looked like a dickhead. To each his own.

He's a cocky jerk. But he's damn good at college ball. At the next level a Ray Lewis type linebacker will knock his ass into oblivion. I think anyway.

It's a dick move, but he's a dick. Par for the course.

I can't think of a scenario where a top 10 team would come to Kinnick and be either so surprised they won or so thrilled that they beat Iowa that they would plant a flag so it's kind of a bad argument. Any good team would expect to beat us.

Any good team expects to beat anyone they play. Actually, at the D1 level, I think even average teams expect to beat anyone they play. Or at least they should. Fan base, that's something different.

It was a reaction to OSU singing over the OU alma mater last year. I really don't have a problem with it, and find the whole situation kinda funny.

If OSU didn't want Mayfield to embarrass them, maybe they should have worked on it on the field first.

Do it to me, I'm gonna do it back, just like the ped mall.
I understand it's really above many to take the high road.

To quote Eddie Vetter: if you hate something, then don't you do it to.

Dude should have acted like he's been there before. Favorites for the Heisman should represent the good in college football not the cocky, arrogant side. Hope he gets trucked by my Cowboys.

I love how he said he didn't mean it to be disrespectful when the whole point of stabbing a flag in the opposing team's logo on their home field is to disrespect them.

22 year old brains are marvelous contraptions.

He's clearly a narcissistic personality. I predict a downward spiral at some point.

This... Sure it's not the classiest thing to do, but in the end its nothing more than a celebration after a game. OSU had there fun at OU's expense last year now OU gets to have their fun.

Simple way to spoil someone's fun is to take care of business during the course of the game when it actually matters.

I guess in my opinion where do you draw the line? Fans will get up in arms over something like this yet pay an inferior program millions to come and play them at home so they can beat them mercilessly for 4 quarters while running up the score. I guess I just don't see it any more disrespectful than them beating Bowling Green 77-10 at home last season. Its the nature of the game.

IF you don't see the disrespect that he did maybe next time OPEN your eyes and actually watch it, he was a classless prick and what he did was a beyond disrespectful move..

Maybe worry about real problems in the world with that attitude. Young adults working their asses off and winning big games get emotional OH THE FLIPPING HUMANITY. Shut up already

So since my eyes are shut let me ask you this. Could it be viewed as good spirited based on OSU's antics at OU last season. As I stated in my previous post what isn't disrespectful about OSU's refusal to call off the dogs while curb stomping Bowling Green 77-10?

It can all be viewed as disrespectful, but with that said what makes it any more disrespectful than anything else. Sure we can view it as disrespect but maybe Mayfield was simply having fun and anyone butt hurt over it is simply making it out to be much more than it is.

I get we're all entitled to our opinion and its nothing more than an opinion so no one is right or wrong. I simply think there are actions that occur on a weekly basis that can be considered equally "disrespectful" that go on unnoticed or untouched by fans and the media. It is what it is, but I'm not going to openly attack a players character for it.
