Back off the ledge, we are much better than last year!

Primarily on the offensive side of the ball. Sure GD is awful, but the personnel that Iowa has this year is much better than last year and the statistics show it from Sat. We all saw the first half, primarily the 2nd quarter when things got clicking and that is what this team is capable of. They will get better/more consistent and they will go bowling!!

For some perspective. Iowa had 302 yards in the first half on Sat. Here are there GAME totals from last year

NIU: 268
ISU: 304
UNI: 429
CMU: 430
Minn: 374
MSU: 257 in 2 OTs
PSU: 209
NW: 336
Ind: 345
Purdue: 264
Michigan: 309
Nebraska: 200

Iowa only broke 300 yards 7 times, and 400 yards against CMU and an FCS school.

I knew it was bad, but wow...those numbers are pathetic.

What were we talkin' bout again?

So if you only win 4 games and then they dont fire you. You should only have to win more than that? Yes this team is better. However last years team was better than 3 or 4 teams that beat them. Now Iowa has lost to one team this year that they have more talent than.....as far as players not coaches.

Iowa was more talented than 4 wins last year. I think they may be more talent than 7 wins this year. Will they get 7 wins?

This is all your opinion, you have way of knowing if Iowa has more talent than NIU.

I think Iowa has less talent than every team on their schedule except Mizzou State and Western Michigan this year. If the Hawks win 7 games this year I think it will be a masterpiece of a coaching job by KF and the staff.

Did I do that right?

I judged it by the first half. Fact. There tds were scored by mental error of the secondary not because there wrs were better athletes than Iowas secondary. Fact.

I also judge it by the offense. As long as Iowa didnt run the same running play twice in a row it worked. However about 5-10 times they called the same running play twice in a row and were met at the line or in the backfield. Iowa cant waste that many plays with their offense. Fact.

Do you always judge talent by only one half of a game?

One of Iowa's touchdowns was scored by the NIU players mental error of dropping the ball and letting Kirskey pick it up and run in for a touchdown. Or maybe it was a mental error on Lynch's part to throw the ball to a player who was going to fumble.

Why is it so hard to admit that NIU might have more talent than Iowa?

You cant show everyone what your offense can do then stop doing it and not have people upset. NIU is a good team. This is not a Central Michigan type loss. Im not saying that. However other than the QB position I would say Iowa is better.

YOu can look at it either way. More talent less talent its a MAC team. There is no running from the fact that if Iowa isnt better than them then they should be. Fact.

OHHHHHHH and it was played at Kinnick. Fact.

Try again. Does everyone in the BoneG have the same schedule as Iowa?

Wut?

You said if NIU has a more talented roster than Iowa then that is a reason the Iowa coaches should be let go. Fact.

NIU is about the 6th most talented team on Iowa's schedule this year. Fact.

That would mean NIU has more talent than about half the teams in the B1G. Fact.

That means you think about half the coaching staffs in the B1G should be let go. Fact.

Common schedules in the B1G has nothing to do with it. Fact.

You cant you strength of schedule and then just say NIU would be better than half the big ten because they would be 6th on Iowa schedule. Nice try though.Fact.

Not to nit pick, but fumbling a ball after being hit isn't a mental error it's a forced error. Fact.

Giving up TD's because of blown coverage is mental error. Fact

You could argue both are execution issues, but I believe most would agree the more egregious error of these two examples would be blown coverage. Opinion.

Did I do that right?

No you did it wrong. Fact. Everything is fact once you type it on the interwebs. Fact.

Getting hit in the backfield by two unblocked defenders is the mental error. Pretty sure even GD doesn't draw up plays to leave 2 guys at the point of attack unblocked. fact. ;)

Part of our problem last year was key injuries. That could happen this year too.

Are we talking about the play Kirksey returned the fumble? I think he was one-on-one against Eakes and made the play by himself.
