Indiana- W (just hoping on this one)
@Michigan- L
MSU- W
@NW- W
Wisky- W
@OSU- L
@Purdue- W
PSU- W
@Minn- L
@Wisky- L (I just can't see a second-straight sweep of Wisky)
NW- W
@PSU- W
Minn- W
@Neb- W
Purdue- W
@Indiana- L (this one will get ugly, IMO)
Illinois- W (totally dependent on how well Illinois shoots the 3-ball, could go either way)
Nebraska- W

13-5/12-6 in conference. Either way, we're in the Dance.

Iowa's chances to have double digit wins have improved since the season began with injuries to Crawford/Frazier, but also Purdue looks nowhere like the program they have and same goes for Wisconsin. That is five teams Iowa could get the 8 or even 9 wins they have to have to begin to get a look at the NCAA. If Iowa can play well at home they can steal some games in Carver that will get them in.

We will surprise some of the better teams along the way and get a couple big wins. We will get our *** blown off as well and probably by some teams we should be able to handle. Thats what you get with a team starting as many young players as we do.
With that, 9-9 in conference need to win at least 1 at the BIG tourney

Winning 6 of your last 7 in the B1G should probably be good enough to get in.

As should winning 7 of your last 8 in the B1G, which is what you have.

Wow...just entered fantasy land...this is cool. 12-6 in B1G...really? We may be a year away from that. You realize we just went 0-17 from 3 land yesterday right with no one guarding us. If you have watched the top teams in the league...they extend their defenses and pressure you like crazy. Someone has to create shots and make them. I'm just not sold Marble can do that with the step up in competition that he will face against the good teams.

I love where Fran has this team and the direction the program is going, but as I said, we are probably a year away from 12-6. I hope they progress and don't hang their heads as a 0-3 start is a distinct possibility. Regardless, Fran will have them playing their best ball down the stretch as he has the past two years.

22-9 (11-7) before BTT. I'm always optimistic when doing these but this looks doable. We'll see.

Especially if the only loss is from a potentially ranked #1 team.

Iowa is a lock to win 10 games this year in the B1G. 60-40 to win 2 more and finish 12-6. No matter what including the B1G Tourney Iowa will at least 23 games and accept a 7-10 seed. The Hawkeyes will proceed to shock the world and end up in the Sweet Sixteen.

Beginning in 2013 Iowa will be ranked in the top 10 - 20 for years to come.

8-10 in conference. with people's heads exploding after we start 1-6 in conference play.

8-10 most likely,

9-9 at best

questions:

can 6-2 gesell handle B1G shooting guards defensively?

can clemmons run the point consistently?

can this team hit 3s consistently?

how solid will the interior defense be?

all these questions need to be answered favorably, and marble needs to have a 3rd team All B1G season for this team to go 9-9.

still a year away

Originally I thought 9-9, but 10-8 is doable for the Hawks, as long as they don't have any more 0-17 nights from the 3-point line. Win 7 of 8 from the Purdue, NW, Nebraska, PSU set and 3 of 4 versus UW (at home), Illinois, Minn (at home), and MSU, and they're at 10-8.

9-9. Will need to win at least one game in the B1G tournament to be dancing.

If this team starts 1-6, I could see a melt down of a lot of people but this is a young team. Hopefully people relax and let the season play out entirely before freaking out.

it is inevitable that we have a few "really off nights" like last game and lose 1-2-3 games that we should have won. but, at least we have options now and dare i say several people can score now, which will really help when someone has an off night.
