Austin Blythe

I would not be surprised to if he has an invitation to come into the wrestling room if he so desires. Football will be first though.

Only HWT in the finals four times...ever. Astounding. If Blythe doesn't make it to the NFL I think a lot of people will wonder if there is an Olympic Gold Medal out there that could've been his.

He made the right choice though, imo.

Premature statement. Blythe will have a lot of work to do in order to reach that level on the gridiron.

Playing OL is all about how well you work with others ... and the way Ferentz runs the Iowa OL ... the choreography is impressive.

The potential will be there, however, I wouldn't consider ANYTHING as a given.

For Blythe to be a "definite" NFLer, it helps if he can prove that he can be somewhat versatile on the OL. The NFL doesn't seem to go after "pure" centers as much these days ... they tend to go more after guys who have developed a rep at BOTH OG and C.

The "issue" for Blythe is that given where he lands eligibility-wise ... he's perfectly situated to win the C job after James Ferentz graduates. Thus, the upside of that is that he could end up being a monster 3-year starter for us at C. However, in order to help "diversify his portfolio" I'm still kinda hoping that Boffeli ends up taking over the reigns at C in 2013. That way Boffeli gets to have a diversified "portfolio" too ... and also that way Blythe gets a chance to earn some reps his first two years at OG. We'll see though ...
