Are you good with the QBs we have?

I believe we have a quality starter, an experienced back-up, and a developmental QB for the future. Would I take a talented QB that falls into our lap? Heck yes. But, for what we would have to pay to get a known quantity starting quality QB, I think staying the course with the current room is wise. Invest in some depth at OL and WR. Hecklinski seems to have the OC licking his chops at being able to push the ball down field.

With Iowa's NIL resources I don't think it is sustainable to keep going after a 1 and done or graduate QB. At some point we need to develop guys and use what NIL money we have to fill the gaps. It is especially the case this year when it seems we actually have a few competent guys in the room with little to no drop off between the top two.

It's a conditional question, so here's a wishy-washy answer.

Yes, I'm okay with JH at the helm, as long as we have a really really strong running game next year. We have to be able to pound the rock conistently and ideally, explosively. This year, I'd say we were actually consistent but NOT explosive.

My worry for next year is that with only a "good" or "average" running game, not an outstanding one, we'll be asking too much of JH. And this year, MG was a MASSIVE part of our running attack. His frame and physicality was crucial to the success of our team. I don't see that in JH next year.

Now if JH is to be a significantly better and more accurate/effective passer next year, great. And that changes things.
