Apt Comment

Believe whatever you want, but its an ignorant belief. The "severity of the contact" is never the primary determining factor when considering if something is a foul, and its rare that its ever a factor at all.

Part of the problem is an official will let monster contact go & then call a ticky tack..
You need to get off the officials are infallible thing..We all know officiating is tough. We also all know that basketball officiating is the most inconsistently called, subjective officiating out there. Something has to be done with all the contact that is allowed. Either call it all or don't call anthing.

Hand checking is allowed & then it is not allowed, all in the same game.
Fouls are called when players are jockeying for position and then they are not called.
"And ones" are awarded so often when there is no contact at all on the play, only the referees anticipation or guess that there must have been.

Coaches affect the outcomes of games
Players affect the outcomes.
Referees affect the outcomes.

Part of the problem is monster contact isn't always a foul, and sometimes ticky tack is. I've never claimed officials were infallible or dony make mistakes. I'm also on record that peremiter D has become to handsy in the B10.

Okay, please explain how monster contact isn't always a foul...maybe in the case of a no-call in a block/charge situation? In that case there typically is little contact, but one guy flopping. Loose ball situation...depends on the official and it is a foul when a guy jumps in to create a held ball situation, why officials do not call this is amazing.

Refs have no effect on the game guys. None whatsoever. Any one who disagrees with me in the slightest is an idiot.

If you think that the refs can't have an impact on the outcome of the game, then you have no business judging anyone else's intelligence.

While the officiating was disappointing, it didn't lose the game for us. The hawks def got the short end of the stick on a lot of those BS calls, but we turned the ball over easily too many times, our defensive intensity dropped in the latter of the second half, and Fran had no big man in the lane to act as a deterrent to driving the lane in the latter of the second half.
