Apathy has set in for most fans....

This may have something to do with apathy: Since the 2010 season, Iowa's record is 19-20 (1 game under .500: 8-5, 7-6, 4-8 & 0-1) AND we have lost 7 games in a row and Iowa is 8-14 since the start of the Big 10 season of 2011.

Posted in another thread...but...

...in our section (138), we were decidedly against the game going into OT yesterday, regardless of the outcome.

Pretty sad I know, but true. Weather trumped Iowa support.

True definition of apathy.

You know your program has issues when the honorary captain is a car salesman that played on a few special teams

Maybe it's just the opposite. Maybe they need to come up with a $28,000,000 donation to cover 2020.

They have that. It is called the annual payment from a tv contract. Donors have no influence, nor very little purpose any more. A lot of people are changing estate plans, particularly savvy philanthropists, because the realize the fallacy of college athletics being categorized a non-profit.

First domino to fall will have to be Barta. Then Ferentz has essentially a one year contract from that point forward...and he would sink or swim.

Despite the last three years, Gary Barta has not earned the right to fire Ferentz. The FB team remains one of our stronger programs in ADept that's in a sad state under Barta's watch.

Again, it is only 2 years. This is year three, which is completely normal across KF's time at Iowa.

The issue will be if he can't make the jump next year. Barta gave him an extension after the second three year struggle. Seems reasonable that the third wouldn't really bother him.

But, if it goes to year 4, it's probably done.

I'm not apathetic....I'm P*SSED! I feel about the same way as I did watching Lickliter run our basketball program into the ground. I want someone held responsible for ruining something I love. I want heads to roll, starting with Barta's.

This is the first time in a long time where I didn't really feel anything after the game. I'm not upset and I'm not mad. I guess I've just come to expect it at this point.

I wasn't upset or mad, either. But I'm not apathetic. I knew there was a good chance we would lose yesterday, and I also saw A LOT of positives to take away (the running game was solid, Rudock performed much better than I expected, the defensive line looked better, etc.). I was disappointed with the loss, but I ended yesterday's game feeling pretty encouraged for the future.

Typical Bandwagon fan .....

this typical bandwagon fan has been attending hawk games regularly since 1976. Season tixholder 20 + years. Seen quite a few away games. Probably been to 50 away games in my life. I didn't jump on the band wagon I was born on it. I have evidently fallen off of it. Wondering how many away games and consecutive years you have had season tickets. I still give to the I club. Do you?

The problem with NOT buying tickets is that someone else will. Iowa doesn't have problems selling tickets. The only way to create a change is for the big money donors to stop handing over the generous contributions.
Which turns into a quick downward spiral into the other athletic programs...

Look, I'm disappointed with how the scoreboard looked after the first half we had. But I'm still going to tailgate, still buy my tickets, and still support the guys that work their assess off to make us proud to be Hawkeye fans. Saturdays are a tradition unlike any other, and are a valuable time spent with my family. I still believe we can make this a successful year after yesterday. I still believe.

I hate these type of dick measuring contests. Who cares what type of fan you are. A 30 year season ticket holder or some chump that buys one Hawk shirt from HyVee every year. Either way, if you want to turn your back on the team, have fun brah.

You are missing the point here. Learn from what is happening with your football program. You have life long fans that are saying the hell with it as long as kf allows Iowa Football to suck. kf is the cause of this. Don't blame the fans and donors who are ****** off at what kf has done.

I used to be a Cubs fan. Now, I root for them to lose.

I'm not there with the Hawkeyes. Yet.

I've kept my expectations relatively low, so as to be surprised if Iowa surpasses them.

My friends have relatively high expectations (7 or 8 wins). They are setting themselves up for a huge let down.

That said, there were some good things that happened yesterday. There is plenty to work with. Iowa isn't destitute.

This is kind of where I'm at. I thought 6-7 wins was the likely mark and 7 was the high mark without some luck. With the loss I am thinking 6 is doable but not a given.

I'm madder than hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. What, lifetime contract, hmmm...20 million buy out...hmmm...well I'm still mad.

Some people need to get over themselves. There were many positives and the players deserved a better outcome. I still think this team reminds me a little of 2008. I think the OL is going to be very good. I thought the Dline looked great...and I still think there is a player or two going to emerge on offense. Personally, I think it's Lashun Daniels. I don't know why, it's just a feeling. He's not Shonn Greene, but if he can make guys miss once in awhile and hit the hole hard with power. That goes along way.

I'm going on record to say he gets a ton of carries next week...Brandon Wegher style in his second game at ISU.

I liked what I saw...our OC just screwed up the plan and took his foot off their throat by having his rookie QB throw 37 times when he didn't have to. He can't carry Ken O'keefe's jock.

They will be the first ones singing his praises and bragging about how many consecutive years they've been a fan when **** goes good too.
