Anyone see the shot of KF after the Morris INT?

Nothing. NOTHING!!

What is wrong with this guy?

I have said it before but I really cant take it anymore. I don't want Tom Landry on the sidelines.

For crying out loud this is college football! Show some emotion!

Do we have to go through this after every loss? You want KF to jump up and down like a twelve year old girl who just got Bieber tickets? Who cares?

If you want giddy emotion, quit watching the coaches and watch the cheerleaders.

It was an INT, not a TD. We were behind on the scoreboard. What "emotion" is there to show at that point?

It appearsIt appears you must have had a stressful night on the radio. Thanks for your PSCH 101 insights but I think you are full of crepes on this one. I would argue we were successful during those years in spite of his lack of emotion. I CHALLENGE you to reference one coach in all of college football who appears more detached and less communicative during the game than KF.If you don't think that matters to 20 yr olds then you are fooling yourself. It was fitting he didn't get his 100th win today. Against a program he has greatly underachieved. 6-8. How many of those games have we been favored in?And please spare "the best decade of Iowa football". We beat a vastly overrated ACC team in Georgia Tech and it is not our "father's Orange Bowl" of the Miami/Nebraska/Oklahoma era. It is an irrelevant bowl save every four or five years. Our program is in a state of decline. Put down the Kool-Aid for a moment.
Whoa, whoa... put the hemlock down! Take a deep breath and think slowly.... what are the expectations for this team this year?

we might be better off if he took it.

players rarely interact with the HC. They interact with their position coaches and coordinators.

Can't force the cameraman to pan over to the cheerleaders instead of Kirk Ferentz chewing gum.

He doesn't have to have to berserk but I think every coach I've seen win a championship yells and cusses on the sidelines when something goes wrong in crucial moments of the game. Not Muschamp yelling but Saban, Meyer, Miles, Carrol, Mack etc. all get angry if something goes wrong with the game on the line. Ferentz had no reaction what so after the two drops and the interception.

You may not care and maybe it doesn't make a difference what so ever, to each their own. I guess I'd just prefer seeing Ferentz get fired up during crucial moments of the game. Some players feed off the coaches energy but Ferentz just stands there looking lethargic as the game goes down the tubes.

I will tell you what kids look for: How can I get paid to play this game in the NFL? First and foremost, all of these kids who are Johnny Ballgames at their high school level, they all think they can play in the league. Period. They don't give a crap about how the coach reacts on the sidelines.

Riiiiight. The 1 and 2 star kids who only get a look from the MAC and fcs teams all want to play for Captain Granite Head because of his nfl rolodex.
C'mon, JD.

No, people are just looking something to hang their psychological baggage on. People feel much more comfortable if they can assign blame to something or someone. It's a curse of the species. This one happens to be a straw man.

The sideline reporter in yesterdays game did say that KF told his team not to get too emotional. I can't see the wisdom in that. How could intense passion for victory be a bad thing for kids trying to find their identity?

Yes, you are right. Ferentz should start balling like a 2 year old or playing air guitar like that guy in Ames. Then we'd start winning.

All I can say to that is WTF. Emotion can play a huge role in the game.

They got the ball back but were still losing...still had to drive and score..I wonder what he looked like after the JVB pick?

This is just a dumb discussion. A coaches emotion doesnt make a player perform better or worse......to say it universally makes players perform better is the dumbest idea ever advanced on HN, and that is saying something.

Your opinion is worth no more or less than anyone else's, guy.

Really? You think my opinion is worth as much as yours? Well I guess we are different, because when someone has a stupid opinion, than I dont only think, but rather I know that my opinion is worth more than theirs.

My opinion is that you need to learn how to spell and employ proper grammar & punctuation.
