Anyone going to the MN game?

If you need a hotel, use Priceline.

I put a $51 bid on a 4 star in Downtown Minneapolis.
Got accepted. After all the fees, the total was $62.

It's only 3 miles from the stadium, too. The hotel is "The Westin Minneapolis."

We are leaving eastern Iowa around 5 Friday and should be at the hotel before midnight.
No tickets yet. Need 3, but I'm not paying more than $50 a ticket. They will be nearly free outside the stadium on Saturday.

Wow, nice score on the hotel. That's the difference between Minneapolis and Iowa City. In Minneapolis even when the Gophers are playing a home game there still is not anything going on. In Iowa City that hotel room would go for $200 easy.

We got a group of 4 coming up, sitting in a suite on about the 10 yard line. Like that it has outdoor seating as I wouldnt like to be cooped up all game long inside.

99% sure we are headed to the fairgrounds to tailgate.

So I am taking it is easy to pick up tickets on game day for a reasonable price? If I make it up, I probably won't have tickets.

Got my tics on ebay overpaid a little bit, however 45 yard line 12th row four together and a parking pass for $400 not bad

Current forecast for gameday: High of 51 degrees, sunny with mild winds of 7 mph out of the s/sw. Just about perfect for a late october football game, and considering it is up north....wonderful.

Should be good for the passing game, which bodes well for the Hawkeyes.

Does anyone know about the gold parking lot? MY Buddy got us a parking pass for this lot. From what he informed me it is right by the stadium does anyone know for sure?

You are just down the row from me. My parking pass is for Lot 33.

I paid $400 less than you, though. ;) Sorry, I'm an ***.

Yes, the Gold lot is right next to stadium. Both Maroon and Gold are the north lots next to the stadium, Gold is the one further east - just south of the Northstar lot.

You did well on price at The Westin. I am paying $130 Saturday night. Heading up Friday and going to Johnny Holm Band on Friday in Apple VAlley.

I'll be there with my wife and her 2 friends :) Sect. 208 Row 31. First time seeing a game in Minnesota too! I've always tailgating before other away games, but we're just going to some bars this time. Looking forward to hanging out with a bunch of Hawk fans! Go Hawks!

I'm heading up with a group of five. I have a few questions if someone could help me out:

1. Is the fairgrounds where most of the Hawks tailgate? It looks as though most other tailgating spots are "parking pass only"
2. How far is it to the stadium from the fairgrounds? The map isn't very clear.
3. For a 2:30 kickoff, what time should I get to the tailgating site in order to get a parking spot? It'll take me 4 hrs. to get to Minneapolis from my house, should I expect to add an additional 45 min. for traffic to get parked?

Bumpers.
I haven't got tickets yet cause I hadn't made up my mind about going but feel I'm a loser if I don't drive 80 miles to see my team, when for home games I drive 250! My son wants to go to so I'll hoping to find three when we get up there.

If you don't go, you will lose your "Freak" status. You will become "MNHawkeye" only. ;-)
