Anyone else hearing Brian Ferentz whispers?

Let's see...Brian's qualifications are...not even one of the better recruiters on Iowa's bottom half of the Big 10 recruiting class. Two years as OC of a bottom half of the Big 10 offense. Oh, and 2 years where his dad got him a gig as a placeholder in New England, where their tight ends have been top notch long before and long after Brian's arrival.
This. Why in the hell would anyone want him? Well, actually who would want any coaches on our staff, outside of Phil Parker maybe?

Rumor going around is that with Paul Johnson retiring, Brian Ferentz is on the "medium list" at Georgia Tech. He's not on the short list, but there are rumors they might be interested in him.

Just like in the old NWA.
Time to take the belt off of Brian Ferentz and return it once again to Ken O'Keefe.
I see what you did there.

For Christ's sake....now we gotta put up with BF - rumor to get a raise - nonsense?
Him and his old man are gonna alternate turns bending Gutless Gary over, every couple of years. You watch and see.
Lol!!!! Too funny man. Bet i laughed for 29 minutes after reading this. We wouldn’t be lucky enough for this to happen. The brian Ferentz bloom needs to be off before grandpa gary hands him the keys on the way out

Are you talking about GT Head Coach job or OC job?

could be a highly strategic move for Iowa. He could gain relationships with HS's in the SE / Atlanta and then come back to iowa and recruit GA. Of course by then I'll be 95 years old - too old for the internet.
Me too. Sad huh?

The only whisper I hear associated with Brian Ferentz is my own internal whisper saying, "How the hell can't you throw deep on every freaking play the way Northwestern's defense is lined up?" It's more of a scream than a whisper though.

So spot on. I have been saying this for years. The last time we burned NW deep was to start the 2009 game before Stanzi got hurt and in 2010. KOK knew how to beat those guys. I have been saying this for years and it also is the same against other teams that sell out to our run game

Ferentz still has nightmares of the 2010 NU game. He threw it deep into a very solid 20+ mph wind. It got picked off.

Yes, I remember distinctly that was a 4th qtr throw when the hawks still had the lead. DJK was open but the ball hung up while on replays McNutt was 20 yards downfield totally open and might have housed it if thrown his way.

Yuck. NW went on the winning drive soon after. Yuck just another example of hawks shooting themselves in the foot

Brian leaving for another school? Well if that happens like the monarchy the next in succession would be the middle son, then the youngest. Plenty of Ferentzs' to go around.

Because Brian Ferentz is the first name that comes to mind when you think about triple option offense.

The first name that comes to mind is our local high school coach that got fired a couple years ago because his triple option offense sucked, too. BF's triple option is a little different... run a little bitty back up the middle to the left, to the right, or dump it off to your third option receiver! I kid, I kid!

Sources tell me Barta woke up in a cold sweat and immediately locked Brian Ferentz up to a 30 year $400,000,000 deal with a $12 billion buyout.

I could get Barta to give me a raise since I sat next to him at a 10-year old girl's AAU game about a decade ago. That said, Brian isn't on that list.

Whenever Ferentz had a new contract coming up there was always talk about the NFL interest in him. Ferentz has a lot of connections and it only seems logical he is getting his kids name out there for some sucker to buy into it. There is a lot of money in college football. He probably wants to try and generate interest so when he retires he can pass the money train onto his kid.
