Rumor going around is that with Paul Johnson retiring, Brian Ferentz is on the "medium list" at Georgia Tech. He's not on the short list, but there are rumors they might be interested in him.
Reports are that the #1 choice is Whisenhunt bince he is an alum. If they don't land him, a GT fan I work with says they want an OC who is under 40, so Elliott from Clemson is the second in line, but he said he has heard BF mentioned as well since he fits the bill of running a more traditional offense and is young.
With the talent down there (that school cranked out Calvin Johnson and Demariyus (sp) Thomas), I think he would probably be a pretty good fit there. Given how bad the ACC is outside of Clemson, he could probably be pretty successful, too. For as much crap as I have heaped on the guy, I actually do think he did a helluva job as "run game coordinator" back when he was o-line coach and have been impressed with the wrinkles he has added to the offense and I think it would be a setback for the program for him to leave, so I hope he is pretty damned far down the list because I shudder to think of how much worse it could be.
