Anybody on this board believe this?

LOL. I love watching people justify their hissy fits! The tax payer thing was a good angle, but no mention of Kurt's salary? C'mon bro, I know you're trying to establish yourself as a whiner with some esteem, but keep in mind I have seen it all before. You need some fresh material if you're going to WOW me.

LOL........I guess I can understand that you'd think that. However, I got no desire to establish myself as anything on here. I mean, why? If I got paid for it, maybe.

Don't know how you got the impression I want to wow you or anyone. No desire for that either. I do like good, rational conversation and humor at times, though.

Really? All you do is vent anger. It is humorous for me, but I don't know what you're getting out of it.

Vent anger? I am sure there is some of that. Tends to happen to a fan base when you have a coach who is oblivious to reality and has the team headed in the wrong direction with not much talent. That's not all I do, as you say.

What am I getting out of it? Well, if all I was doing was venting anger, I shouldn't be here. But, nothing wrong with getting passionate about your team. I mean, come on...............aren't you ****** off at what's going on in Iowa City? Actually, I do get your point though. I will work on not venting anger, even though that's not all I've been doing on here. Your point is well taken.

I didn't realize that anything I said was a sob story but ok I am so sorry to offend you with my opinion/whining and sob story. But most of the things you said was opinion related as was my post, simply all opinions. My conversation with FreedComanche was merely to discuss my opinion of how/way I choose my words carefully. If you want people to take you seriously you do not need to result to name calling or overacting/freaking out or just comes off in a manner in which no one will take you seriously. I am a firm believer that if you are loud and obnixous then that person's opinion/rant is most likely not going to be taken seriously, that is all.

I agree with FreedComanche in that this program is not going in the right direction. I agree that ticket and merchandise sales along with donations will need to take a serious hit before anything will happen. I just feel differenly in how I state my opinion or choose to post.

But please don't give me the bleeding heart story for ARob. The concussions weren't his fault (they are on Ferentz for putting him in bad situations, I agree with you) I will definitely give you that but the way ARob choose to handle it from then on out is on ARob. The true character of a man is shown in how he handles adversity. ARob chose to smoke up, Ferentz didn't put the joints/bong/pipe in his hands.

You don't know how Weinke or Rudock feel, do you know them perosnally? Have you asked them, I don't think so. I agree maybe they do feel angry, mad or disappointed. But maybe they don't, either one of us know.

I just meant by the the clean program has he isn't invovled in recruiting scandals/cover-ups of child rape, etc... Rhabdo was bad, Ferentz didn't handle it right I agree with you.

Bob was a head hunter, maybe, maybe not. It is a matter of opinion, plus rules have changed. But what it seems you are insinuating is that Ferentz encouraged it.

I agree, there are alot of arrests, OWI, public intoxications of minors and such on the team but it seems like you are more upset that the team is losing and you don't like Ferentz as a coach so you attack the issues of the past and things you don't like because they aren't winning. When Iowa won the Orange bowl did you get on here and post stuff about Bob being a headhunter and all the arrests and did you have a bleeding heart for poor old Weinke who is getting a free college education by being a backup QB and a situational punter? I didn't think so.

Again, you have your opinions and I have mine but I agree with everyone who thinks the program needs a change and Ferentz needs to go, just don't see how freaking out on a public forum where no one but Jon and a few admins use their real names will solve any real issues.

Freed Comanche,

I want to support the players I have to believe they are out there doing their best. I don't feel that the staff is putting them in the best situation to be successful but you can't support them and also buy tickets/merchandising, etc...it is a catch 22. I don't want the players to feel abandoned by the fans, given I am not going to make a real difference but I don't boo when I am there. I do cheer as loud as I can as pointless as it was this year.

I agree with you, this program needs a change, my way of standing up and complaining loudly is by not buying tickets. That is why I only buy tickets off friends and family (they already purchased them directly from the school), it's my way of leaving the blame on them. It helps me sleep at night, ha ha just kidding.

Ok, it seems you don't want to get emotionally involved because you think you have no control over any decisions being made at Iowa Football.

However, some of your taxes go to the University of Iowa. I realize that no taxes pay for the football program including salaries. But...........no University of Iowa, no Iowa football. Because of this, I want to express myself about the status of the team not just to express myself but to encourage people to stand up and *****. Enough people do this and eventually this will make in impact on the decision makers that matter - the big time boosters.

Two main things an average fan can do to influence change concerning a college football team:

1. Stand up and complain loudly

2. Stop buying tickets.

Buy doing this, you increase the chances that the boosters will step in and buy him out. Granted, probably won't happen for a few years because the buy out is so big.

No words for the bolded text.

No. I don't get mad about things that I can't control.

Ghost, that was my point as well. Greg Behrendt said it best "Some people just need to be that way, but when you are around them, it is your job to leave."

No offense FreedComanche but we have to agree to disagree on this issue. You know when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Ok, yeah I still don't know what that means.

lets see: KF system resulted in 4 top 10 finishes sinsce 2002, with 2 11 win seasons, 2 10 win seasons, 1 9 win season, 1 8 win season, 1 7 win seasons, 2 , 6 win season and 1 4 win season, he produced a winning record in bowl games going 6-4 including 2 BCS games going 1-1.
3-1 against SEC teams Florida 1-1, South Carolina 1-0 and LSU 1-0,
AND SOME OF YOU ACT LIKE THIS IS THE 60-70'S type losing..
his system is based on having a Strong OL and a Strong DL

It means that when you vacation in Rome you are supposed to stand around and do nothing all day except toss out cat-calls to well-bosomed women with mildly-hairy upper lips and then take an unreasonably-long bath in an unreasonably-large bathtub with an unreasonably-all-male group of people.

There you have it, Paisan.

Dave, there was supposed to be a bit of sarcasm to my post. Yes, I don't know those things. You posted things you don't know either and posted to what you don't know. Seems like we agree on a lot, but I do believe KF gets too many free passes on some issues that never get clarified. I do know a lot about concussions and I would hope that KF gave AR a lot of room. I have athletes in my family who have suffered bad concussion and I know quite well the impact and it does impact impulse control.

I am also disappointed in general (not in your post), that few have called KF out on KF sending running rbs into angry lines and then wondering why Iowa goes thru rb's like crazy. He also was never called out on what Stanzi did to AR on that particular play against OSU. Someone was not trained properly. What happened is something that you just don't see other teams do. The offense is pathetically run. However, we all have lives and will move on... although the football team likely won't.

No one freaked out. At the same time, you were giving him way to much of a pass on things you did not know about yourself. I am much more concerned about the lack of off field integrity to the program than the on the field situation. And actually I did make comments on another board about Bob S. I do think KF is hurting his recruiting efforts by having one qb take all snaps this year. Wienke not playing is a part of life. How the back ups feel is not a major concern of mine directly. I am concerned about the impact on recruiting of playing 1 struggling qb all season. Also, a player knocking out several qb's in a season on hits to the head are under the control of the coach. Encouraged it? Doubt it. Stopped it? No.

I appreciate that but now that you told me, I gotta stop using that line immediately! That sounds horrible!
