The days of contending for B10 tiles - division or conference - are over.
We have been recruiting 2-3 star talent for years and it is now showing on the field. We simply don't have the talent to compete with any team in the league. Case in point - the best RB we can put on the field is a walk on from another program. Apparently he is better than anyone we recruited & on scholarship. What does that say about our prize recruits of the last 4 years?
It starts with talent. We have consistently had the 7th, 8th, 10th best recruiting class in the B10. And this is what that looks like 3 years later. It's not the environment, it's the coaching staff and the team culture that draws recruits. If you are a great receiver, why would you come to a team that thinks the forward pass is nothing but a problem waiting to happen. The game has passed this staff by & the level of talent won't improve until this staff is gone.
^^^This pretty much sums it up. ^^^

Heck no its not over, just like it wasn't when Iraq invaded South VietnamOver? It's not over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
welcome to how people have been feeling for a bout 5 years or so.
How was Iowa's offense called in the first half? A heavy dose of running plays and short passes to tight ends and KMM? Whose offense does that remind you of? Not Davis'. KF's. Seems to me Iowa's first half offense was heavily influenced by KF....Rudock finally played the way I hoped he would in the second half. The thing I feel that lost the game for us was how the game was called in the first half. If Davis had started with this we may have won. The defense played their heart out. We need to beat Nebby next week.
Yeah, we all cuss and get upset over losses,
but there has always been that 'next week' or 'next season' optimism/excitement.
But not now. It's weird.
Of course I'll still cheer, and hats off to a great 2nd half,
but it just seems to be REALITY now...
Iowa is not good, and won't be for some time.
Didn't we just play a real good team down to the wire.
