another game like last year

Where we have it under control and slowly dribble it down our leg...

Really not going to be able to handle another season of that.

Not more of that weak S*** again please.

That's on Fran.. he let the team sleep on the lead. Let them lose their intensity. Hard to turn that back on and respond when the other team makes that inevitable run

sometimes I really don't get his lineups... olaseni was doing great and he hardly played after that.

It's just mind boggleing.

We didnt pee anything down our leg. They took it! Contested 3 after contested 3. Not much you can do when that happens AND then cant get calls to go your way even though we were the more aggressive team...

in some ways I see your point... but Iowa started playing pretty passive and stopped attacking.

After watching the same thing happen again and again last year - I'm going to say it has something to do with what we lack.

You cant be serious? Not many teams would survive a run like Nova had. The fact that Iowa fought and took it to overtime was amazing in itself.

Sorry blowing a 15 point lead when you become passive and confused is never "amazing" in my book.

Going to have to throw that "you cant be serious" line back at you

Nova caught fire in the 2nd half. They were hitting everything. What would you have done different?

This team needs to quit smiling and looking at the bench after every 3 or dunk like they just made a Top Ten play and instead get a killer instinct and put teams away. If we are playing Maryland Eastern Shore fine but the season is officially here and there are teams out there that can play and beat us..they better realize quick that they haven't earned a thing yet..just cause you are ranked in November doesn't mean you are an NCAA team yet. Fran better run their ***** off!

Iowa lost momentum and intensity mid-way through the 2nd half and did some really dumb things. They looked out of synch and lost on many trips down the court. Then Nova goes unconscious and starts hitting nearly every three they threw up and there you have it.

Iowa gave this one away and even though the refs made some terrible calls, they did it to themselves.

Never would have let them walk the ball up the court. We are at our best in transition. Our primary and secondary fast breaks are our best offense. When we walk the ball up the court trying to burn time.... well, it reminds me of Lute Olson going four corners against Wichita State at the beginning of the second half. You play to win, you do NOT play to not lose.

Iowa is out of their element when they slow it down.

Nope. We lost intensity in the first half when we stopped running. 'Nova made a mini run at the end of the first half because we stopped pushing the ball and attacking the basket.

Have someone in archdaheavcheck's pocket like they finally did after he made 2 threes.... or after they did on the other guy made 3 three's in a row.

It's just a lack of understanding basketball by college kids.

Villanova wants to shoot 3's and those two guys in general want to jack it - so you get in there F***** hippocket and make them drive it to places there not comfortable.

Nova hit a bunch of deep contested 3's. They really cranked up their defensive intensity, just like they did against Kansas.

I don't think we dribbled anything down our leg.

Just give credit where credit it due, Nova made more plays to win the game than we did

Why did we stop pressing? (okay, I mostly know why) We dominated them with our press and didn't so much when we didn't press.

For those of you who thought Iowa pi$$ed this one away.

Honestly, what is your perspective on the Xavier game?

Did we make plays and increase the intensity when needed, or, did Xavier blow it?

The truth lies somewhere in the middle, probably more towards Iowa coming alive at the right time. Same should be said for Nova last night.

They definitely stopping being agressive on D. They stopped the 3/4 press and started switching screens instead of trapping them like they usually do.

It was almost like they started practicing other things and went away from what got them the lead
