"...and they're really impressive on special teams, too."

This nugget from Tennessee defensive back Cameron Sutton.

He is referring to us! Iowa !

I think we have a legitimate shot as they clearly are preparing for the wrong team. Oops!

I haven't seen that saying from Sutton. Where did u read this at? I haven't got to read much on what the players from either team are saying about the gm.

I think it is fair to say not as much excitement here as compared to Knoxville. They are playing a ton of freshman and only have a total of four seniors on both two deeps. I believe they feel their program is on the rise and on the verge of big things?? Their 3rd-string, dual threat QB is 3-1 after being inserted into the lineup.

Us? I am not sure where we are headed.

Anyway here is the link. Idaho is not bowling, so maybe he is confusing us with Ohio St???

It was really impressive how we only gave up two big returns and one touchdown against Nebraska. And that's just our coverage team, our return team only had one fumble that game. I know I was impressed.

I am convinced either they are watching film of the wrong team, OR maybe it is a brilliant coaching move on Butch's part. Edit out the ten minutes of "blunders" by us, and have them watch a ten second highlight video of Marshall Koehn touchbacks.

Doesn't want them to get too overconfident???? :p

To some degree, that seems to be the SEC way now. The conference has taken a lot of heat because some teams are playing really bad teams, so the coaches have turned to talking up the opponent as much as they can, in the hopes that people listening will actually believe it will be a hard fought win and will be impressed when they win. Maybe they're actually trying to respect the opponent so they play harder, or maybe it's a tongue-in-cheek sort of PR veil over a we-can-run-circles-around-this-team mentality. I don't know, but I see a bunch of SEC coaches doing it.

Oh yeah, we were 105th in punt returns. (We averaged a whopping 5.13 yds/return).

And 121st in punt return defense. (15.36 yds/return).

Out of 125 teams.

It does get better.

43rd in Kickoff returns.

4th in Kickoff coverage.

^There it is! This is what Butch Jones is showing the Vols. KIckoff coverage.

That's special teams.
