AND THEN THERE WERE 6

5-1, win the big tourney and a 2 seed at the dance.

If we lose on Tuesday then 2-4, lose the b10 opener and an 8 seed, because once again the sky will be falling....

EDIT:
If we the beat the Badgers after losing to Indy...

5-1, win the b10 tourney and a 2 seed in the dance...

Iowa faces a tough go @ MN, @ IU, and home vs Wisky. All winnable 7-10x, but all 3?
Then at MSU they win 3-10x.
Then BTT.

Well to be fair, you're either counting it as a win or you're counting it as a loss and the former is a lot less reasonable than the latter. CAN Iowa win in Breslin? Sure. I just don't think we're going to. 5-1, win the BTT, get a 3 seed.

I think 27-7 record which would include a 16-5 record in B1G games would get us a 2 seed.

The 2006 team was 25-8 overall and that got them a 3 seed and Horner said after the pairings came out they thought they could sneak to a 2 seed after winning the B1G tourney but ended up a 3.

Once MSU gets everyone back, they're the best team in college basketball.

Now that they have Payne back, even without Appling and Dawson, they're still a Top 15 team and I'd favor them over Iowa in ESL

Who knows if Appling gets back to 100% this year at all. And this MSU team hasnt really played together at all this year when everybody has been 100%. March really isnt the best time to try and figure that out.

4-2, and I could see it in many different combinations. Nothing has bee predictable about this season outside of the NW games. We could beat MSU and lose to Indiana. Or beat Wisconsin and lose to Purdue or Minnesota. I honestly have no idea what to expect.

My honest pick is 5-1 with a loss at East Lansing, but I don't think it's impossible for us to go 6-0. I don't understand why everybody is picking Minnesota, didn't we give them a major spanking earlier this season? I don't see their home floor as a house of horrors like Spartyville has been in the past.

I think we win at the barn... That place seems to affect Iowa less then many the of other teams...

Iowa has had success in The Dump. Should have won last year too. I don't know why everyone thinks Minney is invincible in there. If the Hawks are on their game they lay wood to MN every time out. Minney aint that good.

I am going to say 4-2. That just seems to flow with how the season is panning out. I cannot say where the losses will come from though.

Nobody is saying Minnesota is invincible at The Barn. But @Minnesota is absolutely one of the toughest games left on the schedule, and people have good reason to be more concerned about that game than Purdue or Illinois in Carver. Just because you've got a hard on for hating Minnesota doesn't mean they're a pushover.

I don't think he's saying they're a push-over as much as Iowa seems to do well there. Don't want to take the time to look it up... but wasn't that where Gatens started his 3 point streak? For some reason Iowa just plays well there... I'd even say they've consistently played better at MN then any other road game.

I am not any more concerned about that game than any other game, given how crazy the conf season has gone so far.
Keep pulling for the Gophs for a bid. Rest assured there is NO ONE pulling for the Hawks up in this overtaxed liberal state.

You don't get the crippling fear? First of all, I don't think anyone here is losing feeling in their limbs at the thought of playing at MSU, but to act like it isn't a daunting task to go in there and win is just plain ignorant. MSU has had 58 and 28 home winning steaks at the Breslin center under Izzo and some have said that this is his best team since his national champ team. But I guess if you want to ignore ALL of the objective data, then yeah, the Hawks will win out, beat MSU at MSU AND on a neutral floor in the big ten tourney, grab a 1 seed, then run the table in the NCAA tourney.

LOL. It's like you didn't even watch the game the first time they played. There was actually a huge disparity on the floor Iowa just couldn't hit any open shots. It was a fluke they beat Iowa in Iowa City and will not surprise me if hawks beat the **** out of them in East Lansing.

Oh and trust me the team is not scared like you are to play there, Guido. The best team in the B1G fears playing no one.

Plus something tells me Fran will have his team ready for this one. Fran seams to not have much affection for the Spartans...

Why should I care what Gopher fans think? Minnesota making the tournament makes our win(s) look better, which can help with seeding. But even so, I'm not pulling for them; I don't really care either way. But I do think they'll make it. That's not the same thing as rooting for them (hell, I'm the resident double agent, so I think I know the difference better than most).

Also, what do Iowa taxes/liberalism have to do with anything?

Yes, I watched the game. It was played in Iowa city. The crowd was rocking. Appling had one healthy wrist. Their best player Payne did not play. Their uber athletic starting forward Dawson also did not play. We did not shoot well. We lost despite having every opportunity to beat them. That is what I saw. And none of those things will be in place at east Lansing.

As for being "scared" tough guy, the only thing I fear is a loss, and possibly a double digit one. This isn't some kind of Fear Factor contest. I do not believe Iowa fears anyone, nor should they. It is a basketball game, not war. So quit with the macho nonsense. While no one can predict the future, IF MSU is healthy and clicking by then (which they may or may not be), then yes I will not feel good about our chances.

I think we'll lose at Minnesota and win at Michigan State.
The Iowa game, to Minnesota, will be their biggest game of the year.
Indiana will be motivated with The Eye, in attendance, but we'll pull out a win in the last 2 minutes.

Feel good about sweeping Wisconsin, Purdue and Illinois at home.
The team will be motivated against Wisconsin.

I am one who keeps arguing against you concerning Minnesota but I would not lose any sleep if the goofers did not make the tournament. But just looking at the tournament resumes of Minnesota compared to the teams that are on the bubble even if I hated Minnesota as much as much as you do (I have a similar hatred for the Illini) I could not justify saying they are a bubble team. Come tournament time I root for all the Big Ten schools, if Minnesota got left out I would not care.
