The Big 10 hasnt been playing an even slate of games for all teams since for ever. I dont think there were ever 9 big ten games in a season for all teams to play. IIRC the 1981 season Iowa and some others may have played one less conf game than some other teams.

Here you go. Pretty weird schedule as OSU and Iowa were the only two teams who played 8 games while the other 8 teams played 9 conf games. Coincidence that OSU and Iowa tied for the title????? and many teams only played 11 games while others played 12 total games.

And that is the way I used to love seeing NW winless at the bottom of the league even though I didnt hate them but it was just nice to have a usual easy victory

1983 was an interesting year because the Big Ten played a full round Robin and all teams played 9 games. But here is the real interesting part

Illinois finished 9-0
Michigan finished 8-1 and only lost to ILL
Iowa finished 7-2 and only lost to ILL and Mich
OSU finished 6-3 and only lost to ILL, Mich, and Iowa
Wisc finished 5-4 and only lost to ILL, Mich, Iowa and OSU.

I don't believe there has ever been year with more perfect symmetry than 1983.
