Alternate Tigerhawk

Anyone else find the camo tigerhawk or the flag tigerhawk to be incredibly weak? I can't understand why we refuse to come up with some real alternate uniforms like every other program in the country. I would rather leave the tigerhawk alone though than use some half-arsed photoshophawk like we had today.

It was weak in the sense that to me it just looked like "old gold" tigerhawk. I didn't know it was camou until the closeup in the second half.

I do agree that if there is going to be an alternative that Iowa just needs to go all in rather than piddle around. I think it's okay to do once a season but let's get a fan vote so the Hawks don't end up wearing some awful UCLA all-grays or all-whites with silver decal. The Iowa marketing dept is getting better but I wouldn't trust them with an alt-uni.

Anything that is done to honor our fallen veterans, IS NEVER WEAK.. As a Veteran who served this great country, I can tell you that I don't find anything weak about today... Nothing!! Pretty damn Remarkable if you ask me..

Let's just clarify for all that You find this weak?!

Iowa’s helmet features tigerhawk logo on the right temple, in camafloge, today. This logo is in recognition of men and women, in all branches of the military around the world, who are serving, or have served, their country. The right side of the helmet will, as usual, include the ANF (America Needs Farmers) logo above the tigerhawk.
The left side of the helmet does not include the tigerhawk logo and was left black, in honor of all men and women of all branches of the military who gave their lives in the line of duty.

Yes, they called it camou, but I didn't see it. It looked like a brown blotchy mess to me. I did like it one only one side, though, ala steelers. Overall, it was kind of lame & trying to do alternate uniforms is not Iowa's strong point. I think something with flat black helmets would be cool.

I get the impression that coach Ferentz doesn't mind tweaking the uniform, when it's his idea. Usually the message behind it is solid, it the execution that's weak.

I was not a big fan of the design either but hey, it worked, we won big. Let's keep wearing it until we lose. Camo killed the cats. Gophers don't like camo, reminds them of varmint hunters.

I like when they go with just one tiger hawk and leave one side black. But maybe that is because I am a steelers fan.

Dude I don't think that I deserve your combat rage. I was simply saying that compared to what other schools are doing with their uniforms this was a weak attempt. My post has nothing to do with how I feel about our troops how in the hell did you jump to that conclusion? My father is a Vietnam Vet and I have family members in Afghanistan. So I thank you for your service but please relax.

Alright ladies, simmer down a bit.....it's only a logo....We have worse problems to discuss, like who in the hell impersonated the good old Captain yesterday....He looked like KF, but still not sure....;)

My intent wasn't to rip your view on the troops and I apologize if that is how you took it. I was simply saying that no attempt is a weak one when honoring the fallen no matter how small or large, it's the thought that counts in my mind..

I actually like the more subtle things over the overt things. Sometimes it looks like teams are trying to say look at me look at me we are honoring the troops. I think when you see the subtle things (at least for me) I look more closely at them and then think about them more. I like what iowa does by understating things as it is more of the Midwestern (iowa kid) attitude that I am used to.
