all-time rushing yards

I was looking for the 1000 yards rushing club and came across this list that has all the rushers and their yards since the 1950s. I thought some of you might enjoy perusing the list.

Some thoughts (not assisted by AI):

- It now takes 2500 rushing yards to crack the Top 10
- Kamari Mouton currently sits at #31 with 1349 rushing yards, two years eligibility left
- Jazium Patterson sits at #50 with 862 rushing yards
- Jackson Stratton has 4 yards rushing, way down there
- Chuck Hartlieb is in last place at #408 with -387 yards rushing, -7 behind Matt Sherman at #407
- I remember many of these names but not all

Fry, this might be a good thread to pin at the top of football.

It gets updated after every game. Next year we'd be able to watch Kamari make a run at 2000, Jazium go over 1000, X, Nathan and the rest of them making their marks.

Would it be -7 yards behind for Hartlieb if he is after Sherman? If he is last, wouldn't he actually either be 7 yards behind Sherman, or -7 yards ahead? I like thinking about that.

How would you feel if you were one of the 10 that are below Deacon Hill?
Looking through stats on SportsReference is always a wild ride. I spend WAY too many hours on that site looking at college football and MLB stats. Hours upon hours.

Here's one for you...

Colten Rastetter had 109 punts and averaged 38.4 Y/P

CJB had 2 punts and averaged 35 Y/P

Nate Stanley had 6 and averaged 34.3 Y/P

Now...here's the thing...Rastetter and Nate played the exact same years. For a 4.1 yard difference between the two of them, wouldn't it have been well worth it to just let Nate punt full-time to keep the defense on their toes like MSU did to us because they didn't want to kick to Wetjen? I mean if your best punter is the worst in program history, let Nate stand back there and have the option to throw the ball and make a play. At the very least his punt isn't going to be returnable because they wouldn't have had anyone deep...

We don't cotton to that kind of outside-the-box thinking 'round these parts...why don't you take your radical ideologies elsewhere!

That's not a bad idea. But, does Nate have an uncle that's a multi-million dollar donor?

I thought about this a bit myself then decided, screw it, and went with -7!
Need @99topdawg he’s a math teacher.

When I was in school a negative times a negative equaled a positive but they might have changed the math rules since the 80s.

“-7 yards ahead” would be a double negative which would cancel out to zero so we can’t have that.

I’m guessing we need a differential equation with some derivatives in this situation.

By accident I sat next to Colten’s dad at an away game. Generally speaking, he was an ass. He was pretty quiet since his kid had yet another below average day.

Fant's family...same. Wore husker gear to a spring game.
