The legendary Capitol One Hail Mary was all that separated Tate from an 0-3 bowl record. But lots of things went wrong in the 2005 and 2006 seasons, and that extended into the bowls.Tate's performance in 2004 was nothing short of miraculous. We were down to the 6th running back, a walk on from Emmetsburg, and he still won 10 straight. It also needs to be mentioned that he played with several NFL players on the defensive side of the ball that kept them in games when the offense was struggling.
If you ask me to take a QB between Drew Tate and CJ Beathard. I'm taking CJ. Both were gamers, both were students of the game, but CJ played smart all the time was just as clutch in my opinion. It's a shame the team has issues protecting him his senior year and injuries at WR hurt the offense.
I'm gonna assume Jake Christensen would have been #6 on the list.
I don't think Rudock did too well in a risk-averse system. We saw too many wide open receivers downfield go ignored.Funny as that is...I did find it interesting that Rudock didn't make the list. Apparently those who were calling for CJ to play weren't that crazy after all.

Jake Christensen was robbed
He should have started at least the last half of his junior season. Everyone could see it, just like we knew Stanzi was better than Christensen and CJ was better than Rudock.I'd go Banks, Stanzi, Tate, CJ.
Banks was a hair's breadth from the Heisman and is the clear #1 of this group. So much more that could be said. And it's not fair to penalize him for the one year phenomenon IMO.
