After 4 games, who has surprised you?

Good or bad, which players have most surprised you?
Pleasant surprises:
KMM
Keenan
J. Bernstine
Nardo

Unpleasant surprises:
Herman/Z. Derby/CJ
Daniel
Placekicking

I'd echo that except for Z Derby because I don't think expectations were that high for him this year, more talk about CJFed. I can't remember a lot about ZDerb.

I would say Nardo, but you have to go with KMM. the kid seemingly came from nowhere and now has what, 4 TD's i think.

Personally disappointed in our TE's. Not terrible, but definitely not what we're used to.

KMM has been really impressive. Bernstine has been really impressive as well.

I thought VDB would be good, but some of his throws have been truly impressive. In the past two games, I was very impressed with him. I knew he'd be fairly solid, but now I'm thinking he'll be really something in his two years as a starter.

Mcnutt and Davis have been what I expected them to be. KMM has been a pleasant surprise, but I will remind everyone that DJK said that he'd be a breakout player this year. Bernstine probably tops the list for me as far as nice surprises are concerned.

I too am slightly disappointed in the TE production, but I think it's more a product of the great receiver play and lack of playaction game than poor play from the TE's.

My biggest disappointment has been the running game in general and the o-line run blocking in particular. They haven't been horrible but they haven't been great either and that's what I was expecting given what they had returning.

Pleasant:
I haven't been drunk enough to get arrested.

Un-pleasant:
I haven't been drunk enough to get arrested.

JV, to a degree. I knew he had the skills, but the last 5 quarters he has come into his own, reminds me of Kurt Warner a bit. Might just be me on that one.

Kenon Davis has turned into an excellent receiver, catching anything thrown his way in midair, plus he along with Marvin know how to land on his feet running like a gazelle.

ManlyMartin is maybe the most pleasant surprise. He fits right in with McNutt and Davis. Might be the most talented receiving corp in Hawkeye history.

Canzeri doesn't surprise me at all, and he will fill the bill if allowed playing time, hopefully without injury. Of course he only has a few plays against Louisiana-Monroe to judge, but the talent is obvious. I could have run through that seam yesterday that the boys gave him. That was an explosion on the field.

Kenon who?:D

Prater? Huh.

I don't think Prater is playing that well right now either, he had had a couple of big time mental lapses, would be looked over if he was younger, but being an All BIG CB, a bit mind boggling. Maybe it's from breaking in a couple new safeties, IDK?

Not sure how you see placekicking as an unpleasant surprise.
I would put both placekicking and especially punting in the pleasant surprise category.
