I'm not making any points with this or drawing any conclusions. Just for discussion and argument.

Indiana is obviously going to be creeping up this list. And MY how nebraska has fallen.

That's pretty impressive where Iowa sits based upon who we recruit based upon talent. This goes to KF's system and his culture. You take a 2-3 star athlete and over four years develop him into an NFL draft pick. Iowa does it time and time again. You take the Vonnahme kid.

A walk on or preferred walk on. He's a redshirt freshman I believe, but I can see his potential and I could definitely see Iowa putting him in the NFL. I think our D-line and O-line is starting to get back to where we were before. Phil is putting defensive backs in the NFL as well.

Nebraska fans like to point out how much more talent their team has over Iowa. Every year. This is just one measure over a long period of time but what a huge disparity.

And it speaks to the developmental aspect of the program. Does any team in college football do it better?

Nebraska attracts and pays for more talent to come in. Iowa develops talent. That is the difference and why Iowa is punching above its weight class in this category and Nebbie is an entrenched ex-blue blood program.

“Talent” is what kids have when they get to your program.

“Development” is what you do with them when they get there.

nebraska has more talent but we have more development. Which = more success. Rhule hasn’t figured that out yet when he’s hiring assistants.
