AC is really good, but re Suh...

Re: Trust me, loesshillshawk, I am no kind of Husker fan.

You do realize Iowa didn't play a single offense, in the regular season, that was even in the top 24 offenses in the nation. The fact that some of the teams they played were very good teams...is a factor of those teams having very good defenses...not offenses.

We're pretty relevant to Kirk Ferentz...who has a losing record against us.

We're also relevant to another Big Ten team...Minnesota...who's butt we kicked in a bowl game last year, if you recall.

And again, that relevance will be reaffirmed September 18th in Iowa City when we give the Hawks a battle for their life. Underestimate the Clones all you want...but I'd say Iowa has made that mistake before...rather foolish to do so again. But hey, that's your call Pook.

Count me as in the group that waits until after the 2010 season to compare AC and Suh. Suh was well known going into the 2009 season, but not a household name. After the season, obviously things had changed. Same for AC right now - wait and see how 2010 plays out before any final decisions are made on comparing the 2.

And the Clowns are relevant, whether we like it or not. What would really be cool is if the Hawks pounded the **** out of them again, then ISU ends up 8-4 or better, actually helping the Hawks. The ISU game is traditionally a lose-lose situation for the Hawks - if we win it's b/c we're supposed to and nobody cares. If we lose it's an upset and we have to hear about it for a year.

Ah yes, the old Cyclone standby - the only true way to measure how successful a head coach is to see what his record against the in-state, out of conference school is. By that measure, Chizik is a better coach than Rhoads, right?

I wasn't aware that one point games were *** kicking these days, especially when the team you beat hands you the game. But hey, that worked against Nebraska, so it makes sense you'd say the same for the bowl game. Do yourself a favor, Mesa, and go look up the boxscore for that game. An asskicking it was not.

Iowa plays Arizona on Sept 18th, so I'm really not sure how ISU is going to be relavent to Iowa that weekend. Also, since you're using the possesive pronoun "we," can everyone here assume that you're on the team?

You are as smart as my 2 year old.

You are like that IDIOT Tarheel Hawk on Fanatic that tried to claim that Iowa is a national program.

Even though their last two bowl games were among the least watched in the country. Last year they had historically low ratings for a BCS game that was the only game played that evening.

And that idiot THH, I mean a real mouth breathing inbred, blamed Fox, and Georgia Tech and South Carolina for the fact that NOONE outside of the state of Iowa, other than pockets of Iowans disbursed around the country, cares one bit about Iowa football.

The bowls love the Hawks, because their fans show up, and spend money in the local economy. National TV is not a fan. The 3 million people in Iowa does not constitue real TV ratings. And unlike REAL national programs, they don't draw the random fan who just wants to watch Iowa football.

TV is not a fan of the hawks, nor is the national media that serves the mainstream. You saw that with the national outrage in the wake of the Big 10's screwing of Indiana last year.

You do realize that a top 24 offense does not mean your team is any good.

You got what, 50 some posts in over at CF before you got banned over there? I'm guessing you don't get that many here.

But the 1.8 million fans in Nebraska do? You claimed that over on CF.

What is this national outrage you speak of? Terry Bradshaw?

Answer me one question Mesaclone....when is the last time your Cyclones scored a touchdown against this inferior Iowa team you speak of????

I know that I am dealing with a genius here, but if you don't think that Nebraska doesn't have more of a national following than Iowa does, then you are dumber than you type.

Answer me this genius, if what you are implying is true, that Nebraska doesn't have a national following, then what did they offer the Big 10 network to get them to bring in the Huskers. They offer NOTHING academically and they don't fit geographically. So what is the reason that the people in the Fox, I mean big 10 office wanted them?

I'll tell you, and I will even go slow so you can keep up. Nebraska IS a national program. People from outside of the state actually tune in to watch their games. The big 10 network understands that, you may not (oohhh shocking).

The funny part was that Bradshaw interrupted his job on the NFL program to comment on it, but it was all over the airwaves. And there was national commentary on that game all of the next week.

I have never seen a fan base that has such an inflated view of themselves as Nebraska. I respect the heck out of the program and tradition, but their fans can drive a guy nuts.
It's been 10 flippin' years since they've done anything relevant. Why can't they realize nobody cares about them anymore?

For the record, I think Suh is the best defensive lineman that I have ever seen play college in the last 30 years. He is VERY good. AC is also good, but Suh is on another level, and I am far from a Husker fan.

Make your point without name calling your post #10 will be your last.

And when we did play a top 10 one...we held them to how many yards Mesa? Ask Paul Johnson?

'top offenses' is over rated and you darn well know it. Unless you think teams like Middle TN St, ND, Idaho, Nevada, Fresno St, Hawaii, Central Michigan, Texas AM, Troy, and Houston are better than the likes of PSU, OSU, and Wisc?

Thought so.

We don't NEED a touchdown to beat ya. 15-13!!!!

But I digress, the point at hand was that NU had played OFFENSES just as good as the OFFENSES that Iowa played...not that the teams were better...but that there OFFENSES were as good. And comparing offenses between BCS conferences gives a fair comparison....throwing in a list of non-BCS teams is a silly straw man.

Or maybe the Big 10 teams actually play DEFENSE....not resulting in inflated offensive numbers like the Big 12. Not hard to figure out bud.

You made the comment about not playing a top 24 'offensive team'....then you dont like it when i name a handful of those teams because many of them are simply very bad football teams and it ruined your point. Makes sense.

Its not that I didn't "like it" iahwawk", its that your point made no sense. Your point about those teams not being good said nothing about whether their offenses were good...and so you made no point at all...but rather, simply stated an irrelevant factoid. You presented no objective data regarding the quality of the offenses themselves...nor did you show any analysis of the strength of the defenses those offenses faced...which might have tied in your otherwise irrelevant point.

I'm sorry if pointing that out embarrasses you, iahawk...but you brought that on yourself by making a poor point. Perhaps next time you'll reinforce your argument rather than blurting out irrelevant data points.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEE YA!!! :D

I'll stoke this fire again... Show me an Offensive line outside of Oklahoma and Texas that Nebby played last year that was any good and I'll believe the Suh dominated like he did. Like I said before, he was a great player, but I think you can put him and Clayborn in the same sentence. Anyone remember AC running down from behind the supposedly to fast Grigsby from Arizona last year, not once but twice?!?! Or has anyone forgotten that he completely shut down the GT gameplan by forcing an offense that couldn't be stopped to run to the opposite side of the field? There were times he was double teamed and still got at Nesbitt and the GT backfield... I understand Iowa had a few weeks to prepare, but so did GT so that argument is mute before anyone tries to start it.

Just saying that AC is as good as Suh was last year and will finish this year better than him in my opinion!
