Aaron White tweet today

The guys tweeting White are Cyclone "fans" BTW. Go figure. They're usually racist and giving death threats so this is subtle actually.

Anyone surprised by this?? Not me! They really brought this on. We have seen this crap all year from Coach Fran, to the Woodbury throat slash, McCabe Tweet and the numerous times White has called the media and the fans out.

Pretty sad stuff.. If I were some of these players I would be deleting my Tweeter account.

ISU fans, class all the way. At least he didn't go with the death threats, and racial slurs....

Fran just needs to ban Twitter from now on in. The players can't handle it. The team is a lose canon much like their coach. Iowa State is calm and collected just like their coach as it was said all tourney long. Fran needs to get rid of distractions as he and his team obviously are affected by them. Very unfortunate actually.

I don't think Fran can ban Twitter. 18-22 year olds live on that crap. He would chance really putting a divide between him and the players. Potential recruits would hate it.

A better idea may be to educate them about what it really is. And that if they decide to take it seriously, it will only lead to negativity because at the end of the day, in college BB, only 1 team is going to end the season on a positive note.

Doesn't Kirk ban Twitter/social media while players are in the program year round?

Again, not good PR on White's end posting this. It reeks of kind of bantering back and forth with the fan base/rival fan bases and makes it look what the community is saying is getting into their heads.

They really need to avoid getting into an us vs the Iowa fan base on twitter. For that matter, Fran needs to watch about how he conveys who "real fans are" when he talks to the fan base on the call in shows. Even if the caller is being moronic, he has to take the high road. Same with the players. You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.

As a player/coach, if the 5%'ers bother you that much, it's time to do something else.

And FWIW, if I were making the coin FM or KF were making, with a lot of it guaranteed, trust me, moronic fans wouldn't bother me one iota.

Man up boys.

He was calling out an ISU d0uche bag, and asked him to stop spreading lies.

When you are slandered publicly, then a response is appropriate.

It's not Fran and Kirk who are getting riled up on twitter...it's 18-22 year olds who have @dumbshit72 coming at them every time they check their feeds. If the coaches want to ban it, I'm all for it...and at their ages, it's little bit laughable to think "if these kids can't handle a little razzing from a few idiots, that's on them" it isn't exactly a good angle to take.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't allow twitter during the season. Out of season, not sure? And I would imagine many potential recruits cross Iowa off the list early because of this ban.

Noticed I edited my post.......and it does not matter the fan base...rival or not....when he respond back to that crap, it makes it look like it is getting into your head (whether it is or not). They need to take the high road imho.

How is this message board social media crap such a big deal to this team?

Its got to be present all over yet it doesnt seem to b a big deal.

Makes you appriciate how Kirk handles things because he and his team face 10 times the scrutiny.
