Aaron White 1st Hand Observation

I think anyone that has seen his video can see that Aaron has good ball skills for a big kid. I am pleased with what I see,so far. Now, we will have to wait and see how his quicks and strength match up,as he goes along. In major division 1,you have to have the whole package to excel. I am optimistic, but will see how he looks vs college players in the Prime Time league before projecting playing time or his ultimate performance.

On his coaches show, Fran compared White to Basabe in that a year from now people are going to wonder why Aaron White didn't have more offers.

The big difference between White and others from the past is Coach Fran and staff. They have an eye for talent. I've watched some video of Fran's Siena squads. Good basketball players, folks! Also, Cartwright and Basabe can play a little basketball. It's said about Kirk, but In Fran I Trust. Some people can see talent before others. Fran is one of them.
Go Hawks!

In Fran was at Iowa a decade ago, would he have offered Worley a scholarship?

And if he had, how do you think Worley would have turned out under Fran?

Excellent point. Is McCaffrey going to be right 100% of the time? No, but no coach is. McCaffrey was consistent and clear in his responses to recruiting questions on the Monday radio show. He wants guys that can run, jump, shoot, score and defend. I am good with that recipe.

What were his other offers at the time? No way he had similar offers that he had now.

Regardless, he wasn't an underrated 2-/3-star prospect like White currently is. He had to sit out his junior year, I remember reading something like that a while back, because of a transfer? That would explain the lack of offers, even thought he was very highly rated.

Good post. I see a lot of similarity between the football staff and the basketball staff when it comes to spotting talent and developing it. The basketball program is in very good hands.

LOL

Aaron White's offer list: Duquense, Miami of OH, St Bonaventure, Temple, Northeastern

Yeah...not a mid major at all

Bryce Cartwright had how many offers? Melsahn Basabe? Gordon Hayward? Shelvin Mack? Are they mid-major prospects, too?

Temple, Boston College, Northwestern, Iowa.

If you are going to quote his lists, do it in full. Just because he has mid-major offers, doesn't make him a mid-major player.
