A Three Day Hangover: My Take on Iowa-UNI

Back to football.......I really agree with ghost about all the calls for running plays called for our young backs rather that the 5th year senior QB. There has got to be a message being sent there to ol' JVB.
I also said after the ISU game of dropped passes that James passes so hard on the short routes because he is so glad to dump off the ball. Not the receivers fault everytime. His decision making is questionable. Glad someone else sees that to

Or maybe we were dominating them at the LOS, so we scratched where it itched?

I thought your analogy, while labored, was very apropos.
I hate to lose a good buzz, but is there anything nastier than Keystone Light? Milwaukee's Best maybe.

My god...have you kids ever tried Rhinelander? Or Buckhorn? What about Grain Belt? Or Hamms? The wuss beers you listed, while weak, are NOTHING compared to some of the great nasties of the past!

I'm sorry booger, but none of the beers you listed are "nasty". They are all decent-quality 'merrkan lagers that are quite satisfying.

Never had you pegged as a beer snob, pickles.

I remember when Fairchild had a special on Buckhorn for 99 cents...for a 12-pack!

Of COURSE I bought the limit of 2...

I disagree. With the game still in doubt, they leaned on Weisman way more than they did on Vandenberg.

And it was the right call too.

So you don't think we were dominating them at the LOS? Maybe you watched a different game than what I saw, and what Hawkeyegamefilm saw.

Hawkeyes Gamefilm - Offensive Line vs Northern IowaBig Ten

It was clear as the game wore on Iowa had taken control in the trenches and started to dominate the LOS in the run game.

Scherff +8
Tobin +3
Ferentz + 3
Blythe +4
Van Slotan +4

As graded out by HGF, in the running game.

No, I think they saw James fall on his face against NIU and ISU, and leaned heavy on the run, even after our running backs were dropping like...well, Iowa running backs.

Ok, so we ran the ball to the tune of nearly 5 yards a crack with a kid who hasn't played RB since HS, and he did it all himself? Ghost you are usually a smart cat, and I'm not even trying to say that the coaches trust Vandy. I am simply saying that our OL dominated UNI. I'm just kind of floored that a person could actually watch the game and not see what our OL did in that game.

WTF? You're putting a bunch of words in my mouth Dean, and I never disparaged the effort of the O-line. Frankly, I have no idea what you're arguing about, since the only thing you are discussing are things I didn't say (while you said you do agree with what I did say).

I must not have followed your logic then, and I apologize. I thought my first statement was self explanatory when I said:

Or maybe we were dominating them at the LOS, so we scratched where it itched?

Then you responded with I disagree. I guess I thought you meant you disagreed that we dominated them on the LOS......

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Bob! I always forget what that space was called before it was Melrose Market, and way before it was Taste on Melrose and now Stella.
FAIRCHILD'S! Yessir. Bought many a sammich and enough beer to fill a railcar in that place.

Prizim now and Metro back in the day??? or other way around?

True Fact: when I first met my (now) wife, her car was a blue geo prizm. It was actually an awesome little car, very reliable (toyota engine) and surprisingly comfy for a Big Man (me).

Would you like me to list le cars that I have owned in my lifetime? If you're having trouble falling to sleep later, PM me and I'll furnish you the list with comments on each vehicle. You will be happily slumbering before you reach halfway on the list.
