A-Rob--Sit till 2011?

I am not a doctor, but if he suffered his 2nd concussion in 4 weeks, I can surmise that is not good for you. That being said, I wondering if he will (or should) play again this year? I am sure the medical staff will make whatever call is best for him. This whole situation is very unfortunate because he has played so well. Concussions are a scary thing and have ended many a career, including several Hawks. Here is to wishing Adam a speedy recovery.

I absolutely love ARob. Some serious toughness and runs like a beast. I want him on the field at all times. But one cannot mess with a concussion. #32 can still bring some support and leadership to this team. Get well soon Adam!

I didn't follow closely enough on why he was suspended in the first quarter. Did I hear possibly not keeping up on school work? I hope the staff took into consideration a possibility of the lingering affects of a concussion could have contributed to that. They may have wanted to have done some further cognitive tests to determine if he was actually ready to play at all last week. I have read only here, no further knowledge than that, that he is a great kid. If what occurred last week was out of the norm, I hope they assessed this.

This isn't something to mess around with-especially with a capable back up and no conference title or BCS bowl to play for. Sit him till spring ball, even then no contact, have at it in training camp. Too bad he was on the field against MSU in 4th quarter.

I think you could have safely stopped where I boldfaced it. Even if there was no capable back-up and Iowa was playing for a conference title/BCS bowl berth, you don't play him if this turns out to be his second concussion this season.

Sit til fall camp.

If travel is medically okay......I have no issues with him traveling with the team and participating in all other bowl activities.

Will Tarp/Neilsen be back for the bowl game?

He may not return, ever. They do not mess w/ concussions any more. A-Rob has been, and always will be a GREAT HAWKEYE! Get well soon! HAWKNATION has your back!

Sit him til the bowl game. I don't know anything about concussions, but do you think it matters if he sits 5 weeks or 5 months? If it does, than i agree sit him til next year.

I know nothing about the details on why he sat. I do know players from previous seasons have had to sit out a quarter for having an unexcused absense in class or missing a manditory team study hall. Based on KF's comments it would be a pretty safe bet it was something like that.

Regarding A-rob I don't think you can rule anything out at this point. 6 weeks is a long time to get healthy and he might be able to do it. It's also possible we've seen the last of him in an Iowa uniform. I know this, our training staff has shown tremendous sensitivity to this issue, as there are several people who have essentially "retired" with elegibility left over head injury issues.

If we do see A-rob for the bowl game I'd be completely comfortable in that.
