Wow! Hayden has to be shaking his head.......

2017 HOMECOMING GAMES
Illinois: Wisconsin, Oct. 28
Indiana: Michigan, Oct. 14
Iowa: Illinois, Oct. 7
Maryland: Indiana, Oct. 28
Michigan: Rutgers, Oct. 28
Michigan State: Indiana, Oct. 21
Minnesota: Illinois, Oct. 21
Nebraska: Rutgers, Sept. 23
Northwestern: Penn State, Oct. 7
Ohio State: Maryland, Oct. 7
Penn State: Rutgers, Nov. 11
Purdue: Michigan, Sept. 23
Rutgers: Purdue, Oct. 21
Wisconsin: Maryland, Oct. 21

so I'm guessing IL thinks Wisconsin is fodder, as well as NW thinking PSU is a fluke. Purdue doesn't think much of Michigan. Pretty much the logic is being used right now.

Trolls don't need no facts. I pity the fool who uses them.

Hayden shouldn't be shaking his head too much on this deal. Hawks were annihilated in Hayden's last trip to Gopherland. I remember listening to it on the radio. Score was something like 55 to 17 - don't remember exact numbers but it was a complete beatdown. I believe that was the year Hayden stepped aside from coaching. Others on this board may have more accurate memory on this deal.

This is weird. Homecoming is exactly that ... homecoming. If the goofs are at home most of the time to start the season then they go on the road when they come back home usually in early october it is homecoming time, it all depends who is on your schedule when you come back home. And that schedule is made by the Big 10 so this thread is lame.

Why is this even a thread. I was hoping it was going to be geared toward the most embarrassing offensive performance in recent memory and our inability to move the ball against a 3-4 defense....because we haven't EVER been able to.

Actually except for 4 teams, he has a point. NW I'm guessing is up for anyone. If you are IU, IL, or Purdue, if you're gonna lose...who ya wanna lose too?

That said, Homecoming means nothing to current football players.

They have to schedule us because it is the only chance they will get to have a sell-out. No other school besides maybe Nebraska would travel well to TCF stadium. They can't fill the stadium and have struggled to do so since it has opened

Typically teams will have homecoming between the last week of Sept until end of Oct. MN 2018 schedule:
9/22/17 Bye week
9/29/17 Away vs MD
10/6/17 Home vs Iowa
10/13/17 Away vs OSU
10/20/17 Away vs NE
10/27/17 Home vs IN

the only other game MN could possibility think about homecoming is vs Indiana on 10/27/17, but thats at the end of Oct. which Minneapolis could be a very cold weekend. The 10/6/17 game against Iowa, would be the most logical one because the weather should be decent. Plus its a rivalry. MN was probably thinking what game would bring back the most alumni, Iowa or Indiana. better chance to make the most money with Iowa.

This game is not an embarrassment. However, scoring 55 points against Ohio State one week and getting 66 total yards and zero offensive points the next week is the embarrassment. And I'm being kind to the word embarrassment!
