A good game to lose

Look, Iowa isn't going to go undefeated this season. They just aint gonna do it. So, if I had my choice, I'd just as soon lose to the Bizon this weekend and get tis flem wad out of the system. If Iowa is going to lose 1 game, let it be now, in September. That way they'll have the rest of the season to recover.

And now, you may discuss my wisdom.

Carry on.

I like the reverse jinx wisdom of your post. I'm still in the let's win 'em all camp. Maybe our best backfield since 1985. I say just roll with it.

Cheese and Rice. What is it with all of the Chicken Littles coming out of the woodwork this week?

Hawkeye fans ought to be hoping for a national title until a loss or losses eliminate that possibility. They were within one minute of the B1G Championship and a spot the the playoffs last year, right? The way I see it, Hawkeyes are sniffing the top ten in the polls with a lower level program coming into KINNICK. The Bison might put up a fight, but I see no Buster Douglas type outcome for them tomorrow.

Hawks roll. Bank on it.

Well, a 1 loss B1G champion Iowa could make the playoff, but not if that 1 loss is to North Dakota State, so no op, I can't say I agree with you.

If I had to pick one game to lose it would be @PSU or vs Michigan. Neither one would be a bad loss as they are both tough games and they can bounce back without too much damage. This one would be a horrible loss.

Are you nuts??? no way! Iowa already gets disrepkt from every media member and fans all across America for there "soft" schedule. Losing to a FCS team would just be intolerable for me as a college football fan. I listen to, watch and read a ton of football coverage, and I can't bear the thought of listening to Cowherd or anyone on ESPN crow about Iowa losing to the bison. If you are going to lose to anyone, make it be Michigan. Everyone expects Iowa to lose to them anyways. We could always redeem ourselves against OSU or Michigan in the big ten championship game.

Like I've said in other posts, CJ has lost two games as a starter (Michigan State, Stanford)...I just don't see NDSU joining that group. It's pretty damn nice when you go into a game and you know your QB is alot better than the guy on the other side. Even in those all things being pretty equal games...Beathard's history of clutch performance gets us over the hump. This is a luxury Iowa hasn't had in a while either? Brad Banks? Chuck Long?
