Hopefully this will be like the Penn State loss for the football team. Silver lining is is we still have plenty of chances for decent wins in the non conference. Just got to win 1-2 and beat all the teams we should.

I can't stand the way Fran coaches this team. It's pretty obvious that the press and zones do nothing but give up open baskets. Way too much Bohannon. Play your top 6/7 guys play strait up man to man D. This is embarrassing.

Game went about how I expected it to. Iowa doesn't have the skill or talent to belong on the court with elite teams

I would be okay with turnovers, poor shot selection, having a tough time guarding post players, or lack of rebounding, I'm not okay with giving up layups like they are going out of style.

Defense is all effort. If you have young players struggling to grasp the defensive scheme, etc, you simplify it and zone or man up. But if you have players that don't play good defense, never played good defense and don't put in the effort to play good defense, that's not even an option.

Baer is the only player that plays with the kind of effort that leads to good defense. Best to play a zone and at least let our length become a factor. I wouldn't trust this team to play straight man.

Memphis and Tubby Smith are up 1 at half. Really don't care who we play. Just need to play well against a legit team.

Lol, I've said it several times even before the season started. Going to be a bumpy ride with so many young and inexperienced players. I didn't see the game but the score says it all. What is really concerning is what happens next year when Joc is gone?

Lick was really really bad and that gave Fran a lot of rope but that ship has sailed and Fran is going to have to start taking ownership. Two late season collapses in the last three years and we still haven't had a legit B1G caliber point guard. That' strange given that Fran was a guard when he played.

This team is going to get better but whether they will be able to compete in the B1G remains to be seen. Some of the players we lost the last two years may not have been offensive dynamos but they were pretty good defensively. You have to play defense in our conference and if you don't it's going to be a looooooooong year ahead.

I hear ya. No one is ok with it. There's gonna be nights like this. Quite a few actually.

I believe this is a special group. I'm going to stick by them even when times are tough.

Watched part of the Indiana State-clown game. Refs gave the win to ISU. You hardly ever see charging called anymore. The clowns drew 3 charging calls in the last two minutes. They also went over the back twice trying to get offensive rebounds that were called fouls on Indiana State. Total fouls, Indiana State 25- moo u. 9.

Just because he hasn't yet doesn't mean he never will. How can you possibly think Fran, in the rest of his coaching career at Iowa, has zero chance of recruiting a really good pg? He had never landed a top 100 out of state recruit until he finally did. We're you saying a year ago he could never land one of those either?
