7-5!

We just went 7-5 and 4-4 in the B1G. Everyone I know predicted way better than this record. Especially with this cake of a schedule. We need change. We need change fast! Next year of the exact same will be devastating to the program. Another year after that and Iowa may never recover. FIRE THEM ALL NOW!

I'm with ya... I was saying the other day that if Iowa went 7-5 this year that next year would be the "do or die" year for me, but given the way today's game was absolutely pi**ed away.. Up 24-7 with Nebby dead in the water... And still find a way to lose... I have to change my mind. I'm officially in the "Fire KF Now" camp.

7-5 with this cupcake schedule and NO wins over anyone with a winning record... Sorry, but that is just bad football. This would've been a 5-7 year with a normal Big Ten schedule.

But yes, I do realize that is not going to happen and KF will be our coach next year and beyond. I recognize that it's a pipe dream.

Hey, we're going to a bowl game, we should all celebrate, right?

Kurt is now won no more than 7 games in a season, in 8 of 9 nine seasons, when he has lost to Iowa State, with 2002, being the exception
I thought with this schedule, that he could win at least 7 games.

The bowl match-ups are going to be brutal.
No matter which bowl we go to, and no matter the match-up, odds are is that we will be a double-digit underdog.
Least excited for this upcoming bowl in the Kirk Ferentz era.
2010 was close, but when we saw some great football in 2010.
In 2014, we have Northwestern, Wisconsin, and that's it.

Kinnick has become a joke to play in. There is no home field advantage like in the past. The fans get loud, but Iowa just can't put away good teams there.

Hell, they barely put away Ball State there.

7-5, 4-4 in the BigTen, lost to the clowns, and stubbornly stuck with a player and play calling that even the TV announcer said was questionable.

Sums up KFz pretty well.

11th time in KF's 16 seasons that he has finished with 5 or more losses

Yeah, and this makes 5 straight, if you count bowl games. Most of those other 5 seasons came a decade plus ago. KF had a strong program once upon a time, but other than 2009 and the second half of 2008, he has done squat since '04.

Whoever gave that a thumbs down must really hate it when Iowa wins. Luckily for them Ferentz will never get fired and they can continue to enjoy watching Iowa get their *** kicked by teams like Iowa State and Minnesota.

He's been paid 17 million since the last time Iowa has been in the top 25. That should be all that needs to be said.

You need smarter friends. Re-read my posts from May below:

It is a bad cycle. We turned over good LBs in 2006 (Hodge and Greenway graduated) and finished 6-6.

We turned over good LBs in 2010 (Edds and Angerer graduated but the rest of the team remained pretty stacked) and finished 7-5.

We turn over good LBs in 2014. Look at the trend.

Fine. Consider it a troll, pal. But when we finish around 7-5 and I ain't mad and you're walking around all mad, you'll be sorry.

Losing record the last couple of years. Pathetic and sad.

7 wins this year is not acceptable. Not this year, not with 10+ point leads in 3 games we lost, not having to come back against Ball State, not losing to ISU.

What's really sad is even a bowl win will be...meh....

The bad thing is I don't see Iowa getting much better next season. This program is just treading water at this point.
Any other conference (other than ACC) and this program is sucking water, not treading water.

The playcalling was poor for most of the game. My sixteen year-old daughter called 90% of 1st downs correctly. She asked why does Iowa run the ball when there are 7 or 8 white shirts in the picture and six Hawk blockers? I said, that's called game management. She said, "what's that?" I said, "that's when you try to move the ball down the field by 4-7 yards per play." She said, "that's dumb. why don't you run where there's not as many players and throw the ball to a guy that's only covered by one of their guys."

I said, "Iowa doesn't like to gamble."

She said, "It seems like more of a gamble to try to have something good happen with a lot of 4-7 yard plays in a row than one good long play."

Rudock was poor for most of the game.
Then she asked if Rudock could throw the ball to the receivers so they could keep running instead of reaching behind them or falling down.

Girls. They don't know football.

Wonder if we would have won a single game in the SEC.
