4 game conference winning streak

NW is a program on the way up. Keep Collins for another 30 years and you'll come close to almost making the NCAA Tournament. I'm thinking okeefe is a cyfan. As long as he gets the win against Iowa he's ok with sucking at everything else.
 
A good troll really should have a longer shelf life than this one did.....but that is what you get when you are gonna troll about jNW winning games.

Isn't the win streak mostly about the schedule? Four in a row against teams that won't even make field of 68 ( maybe Illini makes it)?

6-2 in Feb. is very good, but probably only Maryland is a top 68 team. My chest is not fully out just yet. Two horrible losses are reminders of how fragile this team is.

When they beat MSU or Wisky, then I'll get really pumped.

Didn't think they played well last night, too many turnover, guys passing up owed open threes, and gave up way too many 2nd shots. luckily PSU sucks and couldn't capitalize.

All said. The record looks good and am very happy the team will finally make the tournament. I couldn't believe I read that some sort of automatic contract extension has been earned through 2021. That seems insane based on his record.

Welp, when you compare that to last year and the way they finished 1-4 against teams that didn't make the field of 68, I'll take it! :p Gotta beat the teams you should beat.
 
I'm not sure about all the 4 game history junk. I do know that when I woke up this morning, our winning streak was still intact. Northwesterns, ummmmmmm...not so much. :D

I disagree, Deano...his problem wasn't trolling about Northwestern's 4 game streak...it was trolling Iowa while on a 3 game streak with Penn State on the horizon...and even then he almost nailed it. (All hail Aaron White's steal and FTs) :D

Don't discount the W at Penn State. They have been a tough out for most of the teams they've played. They have continually beaten teams they shouldn't the last few years and Iowa hasn't played them well in State Park. Would you prefer we had lost the games to tourney teams and only beaten the bad teams on our schedule?

Honestly, I think Collins is a good coach that has already done very well with recruiting thus far even beating out Iowa for McIntosh if I remember correctly. I think they will only get better and may actually have a legitimate chance at making the tournament in the next decade.

Don't discount 3-13 in B10 Penn State,... Really? They suck and the fact that the game went to OT and obviously could have easily lost is my point. Beating crappy teams is not a chest thumping accomplishment.

Of course, glad Hawks won, I'm just not overly excited about wins over bad teams.

I hope they build on this. A late season win at IU would be a much more impressive feat for this year's Iowa team and give fans more hope come NCAA time.

Last time was the 2006 tournament championship. They also had a 4 game regular season winning streak that season with wins over Indiana, o$u, Purdue and Michigan in late January early February.

I'm not sure how you think anyone considers this a chest thumping accomplishment. My point was that in the last few years the close games against lesser teams Iowa has lost. I tried to further emphasis this by pointing out that Penn State has usually knocked off an opponent that they shouldn't have the last few years in that god forsaken arena in State Park.

As for the 4 game winning streak. It's been what like 8 years since we've had one. Did you forget the losing streak last year where we lost to all these crappy teams? Maybe I'm just grasping at straws. I'm just happy Iowa isn't crapping the bed, which I think we can agree on.

Hawks played a good game tonight. Congrats on being "officially" off the bubble - at least they should be ;)
 
That must really suck for OK4P. I mean he suffers for years as an Iowa fan (The Lick years), and then jumps ship for the Kitty Kats just when Iowa is turning it around and making the NCAA's two year in a row now.
