in one day...by 2,000 page views...and this is as of 9pm central, as the google analytics data is a few hours behind...it will be south of a half million page views for the day, but north of 250,000. I think the dedicated server handled it just fine.

I'm not trying to butter you up, but the amount of traffic on this site is blowing away your competition. I have no idea what your ad revenue is bringing in, but I think you shifted the paradigm mightily in this business by going 100% free.

Congrats on your success, from someone who first stumbled upon Superhawkeye.com when they were in college...
 
blows a hole in the apathy theory, doesn't it? If GB gets this right you may see some wear and tear on the other 10K seats in Carver. Sure tells me people do care and will support when they see a reason to. Unfortunately, Lick was not the extrovert salesman nor was his style easy to watch. We can get this right!

I think that the fact that you broke a record against Iowa getting their BCS game says that this is a deeply passionate fanbase, just waiting to erupt.

This should be useful information for Barta.

It's not bringing in much right now but we'll be looking to change that in two weeks.

Also about ready to announce a fun option for fans that want to have a voice and that have an ability. I do not kid when I say we have not even got this sucker out of second gear. Come footbll season u might not even recognize the place. Will be a lot of fun
 
I think this notion that there's a lost generation althought possible might be a bit over-blown. Nothing much to cheer about or be proud of the past couple of years.

This hire has a lot riding on it.
 
Jon... thank you for not being arrogant like the folks that run TOS. I went over there earlier this afternoon and there is a thread.. "we were the first to report".... who the heck cares??? Just ticks me off that these people are this way.
 
I'm not sure how many times I visited the site today, but my vasectomy is scheduled for 10 AM tomorrow.
 
I think I spent about six hours on here this AM and tonight. Good thing I am on spring break and have the next four days to be productive...

Pretty sure I doubled my post count today, too. :)
 
The two hour period between just before 10 AM and noon, the Confirmation of Lick being gone thread I started had over 7000 hits alone.

This board was hopping... by mid-afternoon, the site had a little slowdown due to traffic, but I think it held up nicely.

Yeah, I took the day off and was on here quite a bit. There was a noticeable lag after the presser, but never got one of those infamous "DB errors." Really looking forward to seeing what you do with the site!

and you won't believe this... the Hawksnestonline.com message board is DEAD. I usually post there, but they became so Pro-Lickliter they have closed down. I don't understand why they are taking this so hard? Did they really want more of this?
I too applaud Lickliter for working hard, and trying... but it wasn't working and never would. It was time to move on. I am excited to see who the next Hawkeye coach will be.
