2021 4* OL Connor Colby commits

Really nice get. Very happy to hear this.
He could easily be a 5 star Iowa guy.
The future of our OL looks amazing.
Something rb recruits should take notice of.

Awesome. Keep the home kiddos home. He seems to be the real deal. Hopefully he wont be like the kid that went to Bama and change his mind on us.

Iowa with its success developing players for the NFL should always have 4* plus line talent or at least the top talent in their eyes.

Can the 2021 class possibly top the 2020 class? It seems that in the last 5 years or so, Iowa’s recruiting has improved each recruiting cycle. If we are a developmental program that turns walk-ons, 2 and 3 star recruits into All Conference and All Americans, just think how we could develop a few cycles packed with 4 and 5 star recruits. I know, I know... some of you might say, “ stars don’t mean anything,” or “ we are looking for the right fit.” One of you might even say, “ hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” But... what if you get talent that works hard? You get a National Championship, that’s what! By no means am I saying that we give up on the kind of kids we’ve been recruiting in the past, but it would be nice, and logical, that kids can see that we are a program that consistently puts guys in the NFL. It’s hard to say if we’ll ever see a National Championship trophy or two hanging out in our trophy case. But it is something I would love to see before I shake off this mortal coil. And I think KF would love to retire on top and leave this program better than he found it.

And I think we are starting to see in the last 3 cycles that the coaches are getting the majority of the top players on their board - except for a few notable WRs.
I think 2020 is going to go down in hindsight as one of the best overall recruiting cycles for the Hawks.
What is even more impressive is that the start to 2021 is even bigger.

The thing is, most area recruits aren't going to get ranked 4* until the blue blood programs start offering. Hopefully Iowa can get them committed before the big name programs get involved. An early Iowa commit is usually 3* by default. We have seen this repeatedly.

And some of these players committing early will play their way into a 4* by the end of HS.
