2018 Top 25 Pre-Season



"Way too early" rankings are even more meaningless than preseason rankings. Although, yes, ISU at 24 is laughable.
 






I guess a #24 ranking would presume Iowa State's quarterback gets an extra year of eligibility because of multiple coaching changes with his former teams.

Except they lose their leading tackler, receiver, 2nd leading receiver, 2OL and their F-back, along with 2 d-linemen and their top player in the secondary. And Kempt's extra year is not gonna be a gimme.

On top of all of that, they're Iowa State. I'll go with history, and say they go 6-6 at best.

Thanks, I was being lazy about looking up exactly who they lose. I know they lose a buttload of guys.
 


Wisky losses 10 starters on defense and they are Top 10?!?!? Next year they are at Iowa, Penn St, Northwestern, Purdue & at Michigan. No way they go 12-0 again. They lose at least 2 of those games, maybe 3. I'm worried about Purdue, they seem on the up-swing now.

At this point, you have to consider Wisconsin a reload team. I feel like they've lost a ton of guys each of the last few years and they just keep on trucking.

I remember when Iowa used to beat Wisconsin
I remember when I was thinner and leaner

They lose a lot off that team and there is simply no way the defense is that good again. It's also extremely unlikely they go through another season without losing a fumble. If Kempt gets a 6th year after Ott didn't get a 5th year someone needs to be kneecapped.
 




Great, now Pollard can put up a billboard "MSN PRE-SEASON NO. 24 - SUCK IT HAWKEYES"

Maybe he won't do it, but you know he wants to. Of course, there's that little annoyance that involves the Hawks beating them last year, but that was so last year.
 


Oh come on, we all know these predictions are based on how teams did the year before. These sports journalists are too lazy and stupid to look at 25 teams rosters and study who they have coming back and who teams lose.

That's a very lazy list. ISU makes the rankings but not Purdue or Northwestern? Not saying Purdue or NW will be great, but certainly they're better situated for 2018 than Iowa State.

Also, according to that list Iowa plays only 3 ranked opponents next year...Iowa State (LMFAO), Wisconsin and Penn State. Our schedule is softer than my penis when I see a pack of fat ISU coeds.
