2015 Official Iowa Hawkeye Baseball Thread!

Keith Law, from ESPN, has Blake as the #73 overall prospect for the MLB draft. It will be great to follow his career!

Seems like a great kid, one easy to root for! Having kids like him that have success here and get drafted will only help the future recruiting too.

Hawks blows out Minnie; big blow to finish eighth. Clinch at least two seed.WAY TO GO HAWKS!

Hawks did it, walk off 2 run homer....Nice job boys

Wait. What? C'mon man! You are making it so pedestrian. Iowa had only 3 HRs in conference play - lightest hitting team by far and they get a COME-FROM-BEHIND WALK-OFF HOME RUN in B1G tournament!

Awesome game!

You could say because of that they get to play another Day.

What a win! This team is gutsy boys, they find ways to win and play as a team. Never quit until the final out is made. All Hawk fans should be proud of them!
Our football boys could learn a thing or two from them.

pretty pathetic showing for the #2 seeded Iowa hawks in the big tourny....

Meh. Conference tournaments mean nothing anyway in baseball or basketball. Finishing 2nd in the regular season standings is 100 X >> winning the conference tournament. The real tournament is coming up.

Pretty mixed bag of games.

Game One: exciting awesome finish, good pitching, meh bats.
Game Two: exciting good start, poor fielding, poor pitching, meh bats.
Game Three: turd just about all the way around - poor pitching and poor bats.

Bats were non-existent: 19/98 = .192% and 3.3 runs a game.

Iowa pitching in games two and three: 26/51 = .505% and 9.0 runs a game

You're right. Pathetic showing overall for a two-seed.
As much as KF gets killed for saying it in the other sport, it is especially true in this sport. That's baseball. It can turn quick.

But it is not a good showing in the tournament because Hellerball wasn't on display. You don't like to see this trend in heading into the national tournament especially when dropping 2 of 3 at the end of the season which allowed them out of last place.

Iowa had a good shot of hosting a regional. No shot now after these last six games.

Auto bids go to conference tournament champions not regular season champions for the real tournament so it does mean something. But I agree, regular season championships are more meaningful.

You don't want to play bad in the tournaments leading to the real tournament. Iowa was bad for 2/3 of this tournament.
But things can turn quick in baseball.
