2015 Hawkeyes = Party Crashers!

You think Iowa is despised or hated now by some, namely the SEC & it's ESPN analysts, you wait until December if Iowa runs the table & has a chance in the BIG championship game. I hate to get ahead of the times as I don't want to jinx the season, but, Iowa has positioned themselves for a chance so is being talked about now.

They don't know what to do with Iowa. Unfortunately, if this scenerio happened, I don't think they would take a second team from the BIG with one loss (to Iowa in the BIG c-ship game).

Iowa could be a party crasher to the whole playoff system in the eyes of the SEC or ESPN. They would hate that but I would absolutely luv watching them all squirm. Screw them all. This would be just icing on the cake for me & I'd sit back and enjoy. I'm dreaming now, but could you image the firestorm if a western division BIG team would happen to win the national championship, this after an east team did it the year before? I know, I'm getting really ahead of myself but can't help but wonder about the possibilities and fall-out SECPN would have.

I love paul finebaum, but watching him and his guests try to explain Iowa in a playoff would be hilarious, especially now that the SEC east is horrible and the sec west besides Alabama and LSU is folding in themselves..

Ryen Russillo was bashing us on ESPN Radiotoday, says he doesn't think we are that good a team. Danney Kanell at least said positive things about Iowa. Russillo on ESPN radio today said something along the lines of (in reference to reading Kanells on line article that he wrote about Iowa last night.) "I was reading your article about Iowa on line last night. I got about two sentences in and stopped reading it & went back to playing my video games."

.... and really, who the F is Ryen Russillo. The fact that nobody knows who he is shows how irrelevent he is. Loving it! Absolutely screw them all & I hope Iowa keeps winning to shuv it up their azz!!

Their all in love with the SEC,they didn't think Ohio St belonged last year and look what happened they smashed the party.

Those that don't like Iowa I don't think know what's lead up to them being where they are let alone watched them play. So unless they have I just take next to no credence to their opinions

I have watched College Football whatever on ESPN the past two days and not one mention of the Hawkeyes. I They have dedicated half of the show to the botched punt by Michigan which probably didn't help things.

The thing about radio/TV personalities is that it's there job to take a position on something and be as harsh and hard as possible about it in order to polarize listeners and viewers and gain ratings. You agree with one side, you listen in affirmation, you disagree, you still listen with discontentment and hope they eat their words later on. Skip, Stephen A, Cowherd, Dennis Dodd, etc. are all the same. Unfortunately in this case whoever Russillo is, he's picking on Iowa to get a rise out of people whether they agree or not.

Considering Iowa's apparent depth at multiple positions...we could be crashing the party for a couple years. As for this year (I posted this on another thread)...Like Jake Taylor said, there's only one thing left to do... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-hDl6OALv4

Go Hawks!!!

Bingo. Radio hosts are supposed to stir up controversy. They aren't analysts or journalists, they are personalities.

We don't even need to look to national radio for things like this - Travis Justice keeps saying that an undefeated Iowa team that wins the BTCG won't get into the playoff. It's idiotic. To get there, they'd have to beat a top 5 opponent in three BTCG, and go undefeated. I'm waiting for Murph and Andy to pile on as well, because they like being contrarian to be funny.

These next few games are going to be blowout if the Hawks stay healthy. They'll rise in the rankings, and force pundits to admit they're pretty good.

What's kind of funny and ironic is...............that a lot of Hawkeye fans were saying the same thing about Iowa, less than a year ago.

Seven weeks ago, a good 1/3 of this board didn't think we would beat Illinois State. The following, a good 40% thought we wouldn't beat Iowa State. The following week, a good 15-20% thought we wouldn't beat Pitt. Last week, about 20% didn't think we would beat NW. Fact is, nobody saw 7-0 (to this point) coming. Hawknick doesn't count, since he is banned, thus not a real poster :)

Ryen Russello happens to be my favorite sports radio personality and will continue to be. He's not a Hawkeye fan, so what, its a stance he's chosen to take for ratings. It doesn't affect us the slightest bit, and if he comes around he'll admit he was wrong about us. I'd rather see someone like him stay true to himself and not jump on the bandwagon then play fair weather fan and pretend that he's been on board all along. Its an opinion, its no different then anyones on here, aside from the fact that he's got a national audience.

HawkNick has just taken his talents over to HR.

Try living in SEC country being a Iowa BIG Ten fan! All the guys I work with keep saying that Iowa is just on a lucky streak right now and it will end soon. I had a little bit of a ******* match today with a Ole **** fan. He was telling me that Memphis was a better team than Iowa, I just fired back at him saying, if it makes you feel like more of a man to talk crap after getting your *** kicked by the Memphis Tigers, more power to you! Lol. Go Hawks!

No different than 2009 after we started 9-0.

National pundits didn't know what to do with us. Mainly dismissed us.

And boy were they relieved when we dumped it against NU at home.

Same thing happening again....too bad.

Bill King, used to have a show on SiriusXM, based out of Nashville.
He's back on terrestial radio and does a solid show between 7-9am, M-F.

He went to Tennessee, but understands college football, and doesn't show his SEC bias.
He understands Iowa and has known Ferentz for years.
