2015 & 2016 Big Ten Scheds Released Monday at 9a

Not really. 2 big rivalries in Mich/OSU and Minny/Wisky were protected. I dont think a lot of people consider Illinois/Northwestern a huge rivalry, but they are both from the same state so it makes sense.

Penn State and Nebraska arent rivlas and were pitted against each other strictly because of the history of the 2 schools.

PSU was a cross-division rivalry that we should have had as permanent because of how it had developed over the Fry/Ferentz years. Instead, B1G decided to create one artificially between PSU and Neblets.

I think it was error to separate UM and OSU for the same reason a poster above thought doing so was smart. That protected regular-season rivalry at the end of the season would be EPIC if it was for a berth in the title game to the other one's exclusion. If they've both wrapped up their division titles, the marquee of the first matchup will be lacking.

Hopefully that just means that if they win their division they will be woefully unprepared for the B1G title game. Nebby has what looks to be a couple of pretty soft schedules coming up too. These next two years will be pretty tough for Iowa but 2014 and 15 are looking good IMO.
From '13 to '16 Iowa misses out on Indiana. MSU misses out on Wisconsin. Nebraska misses out on Ohio State for four years. Northwestern misses Penn State. Minnesota misses Illinois. Michigan misses Purdue.

That is basically a four year schedule advantage for everyone else in our division.

So, the prospect of a strong Mich and OSU playing in back to back games one week apart at the end of the season is a happy one?....get out.

That would totally suck the life out of The Game if it happened more than once a generation. They should have been together in the eastern division, and then it would never happen.

Iowa winning a majority of the games against PSU over the last 10-15 years does not make a rivalry either.

We had one shot to get a "natural rivalry" in the cross division matchups and that was Wisconsin. It didnt happen, time for everybody to get over it.

In 2013 the BADgers will have the easiest schedule in the history of the Big Ten conference:

at OSU
NW
at Ill
PU
at Iowa
Ind
at MN
PSU

Yeah, I dont think any schedule that includes a trip to the 'Shoe should be considered the easiest in the history of the B1G.

Has anyone suggested that by the time we are to play these schedules the Big Ten landscape will have changed? Odds are new teams will be added to the Big Ten before this time and these schedules will be obsolete.
