2012 PG Ka'Darryl Bell

MVC over the Big Ten? Wow! I bet he can't wait to play in front of 3,000 screaming fans at Evansville every year!

He is probably thinking about more than just basketball... and there is nothing wrong with that. He might like a smaller setting and he probably knows the NBA is far from a sure thing. Nothing wrong with choosing what it right for you personally and your future. I would like to find someone who fits in well at Iowa in every way and doesn't end up transferring after a year anyway.

Not a great big deal, he only had INTEREST, but DIDN'T HAVE AN OFFER. So, it isn't like he could choose Bradley over Iowa when he didn't even have an offer. Duh, smh.

Iowa looked at him,but they moved on awhile ago. Might have been academics,or just not talented enough. They never did offer,so that means they passed.

I'm of the opinion that we are at the point that we can actually be somewhat selective about who we sign and not just take anyone that is looking to play in the Big Ten.

I don't have "insider" access to Kakert's site, but this is a slug from Bell's profile, this was in June:

Bell thinking about Iowa

Last week Ka'Darryl Bell watched as his best friend made his college decision. His best friend is Maurice Fleming and his college destination will be the University of Iowa. As luck would have it, Bell has a basketball scholarship offer from Iowa.

Also, as I stated earlier, I had heard in July he had an offer from Fran, too.
Perhaps Iowa did move on later in July/August, but from what I was told, he had an offer.

I stand corrected. I guess Iowa did offer him back in June. Wonder if the Gesell commitment changed that? I still would like to get another pg, and one from the Chicago area would have been good also. Oh well...

Didn't have an active offer...Iowa was still evaluating him during July. I thought he had one too and I'm sure he wanted one, but it turns out that he didn't.

I think the only point guards that had commitable offers were Marcus Paige and Mike Gessel.
