Just a small list of some in-state guys to watch for:
Name, Position, School, Other Info

Charles Rogers, Currently QB-Likely ATH, ICWest, holds only an ISU offer now, very fast with quick feet, decent accuracy as well. Looks to be a very promising dual threat type of guy. Needs a little work in the passing game. Could switch to WR at 6'2

Barkley Hill, HB, Cedar Falls, also holds only an ISU offer as of now, quick, powerful for his size, lacks break away speed but uses juke moves wisely. Reminds me of Wehger.

James Harrington, ATH, Cedar Falls, holds an Indiana St offer for basketball, many say hes the state's fastest player, also runs track and plays basketball. 6'0 170 lbs, likely a WR.

Wes Burnside, HB, Union High School, no offers yet, recruited by Reese Morgan, hits the holes hard, not overly fast, seems hard to bring down.

Mark Atwater, LB, Linn Mar, I don't know much, started for Linn Mar as a junior, recruited by Reese Morgan, couldn't find highlights on Youtube and don't own the Rivals sub, it sounds like he will be a QB this year as well, and he is competing at the state wrestling meet

Dillon Godfrey, TE, Sioux City East, Notes to being recruited by Reese Morgan, holds no current offers, stands 6'7, also plays basketball, potential OL prospect

Keevon Bernstine, DB, Des Moines Lincoln, recruited by Reese Morgan, 85 tackles junior year, also played HB, 5'9 165, little is known

Jeremy Johnson, DB, City High, recruited by Reese Morgan, 5'10, teammate of Ronald Thompson.

Ronald Thompson, HB, City High, recruited by Reese Morgan, 1,350 yards on 198 attempts with 21 td's his junior year as well as 63 tackles, 6'0 202 possible character problems

Micheal Malloy, HB, Sioux City Heelan, 1,668 yards on 207 attempts with 29 rushing td's his junior year as well as 26 receptions for 210 yards and 2 td's, also gained 324 kick return yards on 13 attempts

Dalton Ferch, DB, West Marshall, brother plays for IWCC currently, accounted for 74 tackles junior year, as well as 6 rushing td's and 5 recieving

Steve Ferentz, OL, City High, KF's youngest son, don't know much about him, possible walkon opportunity

Amara Darboh, WR, Dowling, most of us have heard of Darboh by now, great athlete, holds Iowa offer as well as other BCS schools, if you haven't heard here is a link to his rivals and scout profiles:
Amara Darboh - Yahoo! Sports
Scout.com: Amara Darboh Profile

If you know of any others or have anything better on what I have found, share and I will keep running updates. Would like to do something similar to the "Tracking Offers List" but make this more for info on in state guys. Feel free to share stats etc.

I don't think there is any way Rogers is going to play QB at the next level. He is definitely an "athlete" type.

The Indiana State offer for Harrington is for basketball, not football.

The kid from SC East might fill out to be an OL prospect. I heard that he was invited to a Wisconsin Junior Day event.

Little Bernstine is being looked at by UCLA and Texas A&M according to Scout. They were also involved with his brother, I believe. I think the family is originally from Cali. I still say the kid is too small to play big time ball, but who knows.

Ronald Thompson from City High is an absolute beast, but I wonder if there will be character flags thrown up considering he was suspended for the state championship game for after getting caught smoking marijuana.

Also, are the Hawks looking at Jasper Washington from City? Played WR and LB for them two years ago as a Soph. Ferentz' youngest son, Steve, will be a SR next year, too. I don't think he has high major talent, but who knows, maybe a walk-on prospect.

Dondre Alexander from West High is also a name to watch for in the future, although I'm pretty sure he is a Class of 2013 prospect. Randy Reiners' kid also plays for West, but I think he was only a freshman or soph last year.

Dalton Ferch from West Marshall is another name to keep an eye on. His brother Drake was a pretty good player a year or so back and is now at Iowa Western CC.

Last but not least, Sioux City Heelan RB Michael Malloy is going to get some serious looks.

You're right, we need to offer every midget DB in the Midwest because once we had a really good undersized player.

We need to offer every midget DB in the midwest........if he can play. If he can play, then offer him. Sanders showed that you don't have to be big to be good.

I've seen Burnside play and the kid is a workhorse. Sounds like he has a great work ethic and great kid off the field. 30 tds last year and over 2,000 yards as a junior. Keep an eye on him.

If young Bernstine gets an endorsement from someone like Joe Moore, who KF held in very high regard, then he will get an offer from Iowa.
I expect 4-5 Iowa players will get an early offer from Iowa. Others will have to show what they can do during their senior years or at summer camp.

Especially when their siblings have proven to be so successful on this level.

Nothing against JB, but he was bigger than Keevon coming out of highschool, and due to injuries hasn't done much other than special teams. If Paki Omeara or Greg Castillo had a smaller brother you wouldn't be saying we HAVE to recruit him would you?

Mike was being sarcastic. I'm saying that if he can play then we should go after him. Size isn't everything. If he can play, he can play. Now if he's just not that good, then forget what I said. But if he's got talent, then size shouldn't matter.

And for the Paki/Castillo reference: It's a little different when your older brother was/is a tremendous athlete.

Agreed, Jovon Johnson 5-9 177, Antwan Allen 5-10 180. Maybe not the best DBs Iowa had but those two knew how to play football and Johnson was a ball hawk.

True that! We won a lot of games in their careers, not because of them or in-spite of them but they were no doubt integral to our success.

I assume that Barkley Hill would be recruited at RB, but what does he look like in the defensive backfield.
Also, for Rogers, is he a WR in college? Could he be a defensive back or LB?

He plays QB now and he potentailly could stay there depending on the school, however I see Iowa would use him as a McNutt type guy as a WR. Maybe he could play defense but I would say DB, not LB. Also I predict once Iowa offers, he's ours to lose as West High is about 5-10 miles from Kinnick(incase you aren't from the area).

As for Hill, I haven't seen him play as much, and won't have the shot next year due to me graduating this year. I will likely attend some West games, although I have never attended the school, and will post stats and updates on Rogers next season.

Kinnick is less than a mile from the West High campus. It is about a 10-15 minute walk along Melrose, at most. I walk this route almost every day.

Rogers is likely a WR or DB on the next level. He made his first impact in high school at WR but the West coaches were forced to move him so that they could have their best athlete at QB.

I had assumed WR, but wasn't sure on D. And yes I am familiar with the area. Possibly more so than you are as I grew up in a small town near Iowa City and spent a lot of time there. Not living there now, and don't follow any high school football teams in the state. Thanks for the info

Sorry, I typically face a load of traffic around the times I drive from the area where West is and Kinnick, therefore I put 5-10 minutes because thats usually how long it takes with traffic for me. Also, I put that for anyone reading this thread who did not know where West was in proximity to Kinnick. And yes, you are more familiar with the area, as I was born in CR and currently live outside of it, until I attend Iowa next year.

Hill is a great back. I've seen him play quite a few times. He's not a really fast kid. Good vision and pretty tough. He does have a knack for breaking big runs in high school, but wouldn't expect that as much at the next level. Outside of running back he'd probably project to safety, but I think he'd stay on offense.

There's a kid here in Cedar Rapids I watched play several times this year at kennedy. I went to see Christian and each time I went away talking about a safety named Josh Jahlas. I saw he was all state last year as a junior, and earned all of it. Obviously the way recruiting works since he hasn't been talked about yet, there probably won't be scholarship talk of him going to Iowa, but I'd keep an eye on him. He'd be a great preferred-walk-on kid. He's also the type of kid I could see go to UNI.
