VT is doing both Midlands and Southern Scuffle? OK St. skipping both? Same with OSU. Good overall tournament, though the SS is more top heavy.

There are some great individual match ups at Midlands this year! The top seed at each weight is ranked in the top 3 (assuming these teams show up and no one is injured).

Here are the seeds using Intermat rankings. Assumes everyone wrestles at their ranked weights. Injuries will change this a bit, as I know Dong is out for the season. All top seeds are ranked in the top 3!

The finals will be on BTN. I doubt any other video will be streamed for this event. BTN doesn't work well with others.

Great read up thank you fellas. Would love to see our guys win this time around. To good health! Cheers
Go Hawks!

Herkey - I don't know for certain, but I highly doubt it. I've emailed Coach Pariano at NW the past two years and I understand he's frustrated they haven't been able to make this work. I've also asked people much closer to these processes than I am, and I haven't gotten a positive response (i.e. they're frustrated as well).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...but maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

Dang, I figured as much. Thanks anyway!

These matches have usually ended up on flowrestling after the fact. that not going to be the case this year?

Not if BTN has any say in the matter. Lots of wrestling video can be found on the internet, but some of it isn't legal. I don't know how hard BTN pressures flo about this issue, but I do know they have repeatedly refused to let others provide coverage of B1G events--even when BTN is not providing coverage. I'm certain that if enough $$ was offered BTN would allow other organizations/individuals to show video.

Here's my prediction on who Iowa will bring to Midlands (18 total):

125 McD
133 Clark, Ramos
141 M. Ballweg, Marion
149 J. Ballweg, Grothus, Kelly
157 DSJ
165 N. Moore, Evans
174 Lofthouse
184 Fahler, Wagner
197 Gambrall, Lira
Hwt Rasing, Telford

Pumpdog - for some reason Carew doesn't appear to be in the discussion any longer. Brands mentioned every 149lber candidate but him in recent interviews. Also, I read that he re-injured his knee although I don't know if that's true. Would love for him to be in the mix as I've heard lots of great things about his style and ability...but at this point it doesn't seem likely.

Im afraid we may not be seeing DSJ @ midlands. We need him 100 percent come March no need to push him back to early.

Got a feeling will see Nick Moore at 157 if its a no go for DSJ

My mistake should have read if DSJ is not at Midlands, and since Kelly is going 149, it would make sense that Nick Moore drop to 157 to wrestle. I believe he is our strongest option at 157 if DSJ will not be wrestling. JMO

Do you mean @ 157? Moore's not bumping Evans out of 165.

since you can score points from your top 10 wrestlers I would be very surprised if we had a 157(if DSJ is not 100%) scoring for us at Midlands if Nick Moore scores for us he will be at 165. Just my opinion.
